Petronor 2018 Will Be in Salvador – Energy Sector Is Celebrating.

After a long hiatus of nine years, the international event Petronor will be held in Salvador-Ba. From July 18 to 20, the capital of Bahia will mark its place in history by hosting at the Senai Cimatec auditorium, the VII Conference and Business Meeting of the Oil Sector of Northern and Northeastern Brazil – Petronor 2018 right as oil activity is being restarted in the Northeast. Rio de Janeiro has always been the darling when it came to the oil, gas, and energy market. However, taking advantage of a good scenario of changes, the Northeast is reclaiming a prominent position. The Event

PetroNor is an international event (held every two years, it is free, focuses on generating business and debating relevant topics for the sector), organized by Sebrae, executed by Austral) focusing on opportunities for suppliers in the oil and gas sector from the Northern and Northeastern regions of Brazil, addressing relevant topics for exploration and production (upstream), transportation (midstream), refining (downstream), and petrochemicals. PetroNor consists of a Technical Conference and a Business Meeting.

PetroNor – History of Events

Salvador (2009), Aracaju (2010), Manaus (2011), Recife (2012), Mossoró (2013), and Natal (2016). The equivalent event in the S/SE region, PetroSul, has been held in Niterói (2014) and Vitória (2017). PetroSul 2019 will be held in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.

The event will bring together around 500 participants. Among them are six foreign delegations from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Colombia, and Argentina. Also participating are about 300 representatives from companies. Business missions, startups, managers, and leaders of Sebrae units from ten Brazilian states will also be part of the audience.

Oil Hub

Currently, Salvador is the second most important oil hub in Brazil. “It is essential to recognize the relevance of Bahia for the sector and bring business opportunities to the state. Petronor takes place in an optimistic scenario for the sector, and we believe that the event will further strengthen the oil and gas production chain, fostering the link between large and small companies,” highlights the superintendent of Sebrae Bahia, Jorge Khoury, who also remembers Bahia’s tradition in the sector, present from exploration to refining and import and export.

Innovation Arena

The complete program is available on the event’s website: www.petronor.net.br. Highlights include Gas and Oil forums (with simultaneous Portuguese-English translation), business rounds, and round tables. For the first time, the event will feature a Forum and the Innovation Arena, presenting topics linked to Industry 4.0 and the environment of connection between industry and startups. In the Arena, 35 projects will be presented, using technology applied in the sector to reduce costs and achieve more efficient operations in exploration, production, and refining activities.
