The event

PetroNor is an international event (happens every two years, is free, focuses on generating business and debating relevant topics for the sector), will be held by Sebrae, with execution by Austral) focusing on opportunities for suppliers in the sector of oil and gas in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, which addresses issues relevant to the exploration and production (upstream), transportation (midstream), refining (downstream) and petrochemicals segments. PetroNor consists of a Technical Conference and a Business Meeting.

PetroNor – event history

Salvador (2009), Aracaju (2010), Manaus (2011), Recife (2012), Mossoró (2013) and Natal (2016). The equivalent event in the S/SE region, PetroSul, has already been hosted in Niterói (2014) and Vitória (2017). PetroSul 2019 will be held in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.

The event will gather around 500 participants. Among them are six foreign delegations from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Colombia and Argentina. Around 300 company representatives also participate. Business missions, startups, managers and directors of Sebrae units in ten Brazilian states will also be part of the audience.

Currently, Salvador is the second most important oil hub in Brazil. “It is fundamental to recognize the importance of Bahia for the sector and bring business opportunities to the state. Petronor takes place in a scenario of optimism in the sector, and we believe that the event will further strengthen the Oil and Gas production chain, fostering the link between large and small companies”, highlights the superintendent of Sebrae Bahia, Jorge Khoury, who recalls, also, the Bahian tradition in the sector, present from exploration to refining and import and export.

Innovation Arena

Among the highlights are the Gas and Oil forums (with simultaneous Portuguese-English translation), business roundtables and round tables. For the first time, the event will have a Forum and the Innovation Arena, which will present themes related to Industry 4.0, and the connection environment between industry and startups. At the Arena, 35 projects will be presented, which use technology applied to the sector to reduce costs and more efficient operations in exploration, production and refining activities.
