In the first fifteen days of the month, the highlight is the large number of foreign guests on board the ships arriving in Brazil, giving them a taste of the city during this stop, and many of them will return for longer stays. After all, it’s very easy to fall in love with Rio,” confirmed Marcello Chagas, operations coordinator at the Pier Mauá Cruise Terminal.
This cruise season at the Pier Mauá is being energized by various musical attractions, due to the arrival of the MSC Seaview, Costa Fortuna, MSC Armonia, and MSC Música ships, according to Clia.
MSC Seashore and Norwegian Are the Big Highlights of This Season at Pier Mauá, Attracting Tourists from Around the World to the State of Rio de Janeiro
The highlights of this fortnight are the MSC Seashore and Norwegian Star ships, which are arriving for the first time at the Pier Mauá on December 9 and 11, respectively.
The MSC Seashore is one of the newest ships in the MSC fleet, with an incredible capacity of 7,077 people including crew. The Norwegian Star has a capacity of 3,458 people and is spending seven days in Brazil.
During this cruise season, it will visit Rio de Janeiro, stopping at Búzios, Ilha Grande, and Santos before heading to Uruguay and Buenos Aires.
This cruise season will wrap up in April 2023, and by then, Clia expects that the economic movement in Rio de Janeiro will be even more boosted with the arrival of new tourists to the region.
This season, the Pier Mauá expects to receive around 500 thousand tourists between embarkations, disembarkations, and transit.
Therefore, the location has made available a Covid-19 testing operation exclusively on its premises, thus ensuring the total safety of tourists visiting the state of Rio de Janeiro.
