Reactivation of the Cement Factory in the State of Sergipe Promises to Generate 1500 Jobs with Investment from Polimix.

The reactivation of the cement factory in Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Sergipe, is gaining momentum with the investment of R$ 600 million recently announced by Polimix. The company is promising to generate 1500 direct and indirect jobs in the state with the reactivation of the plant. The initiative, which will revitalize the industrial complex closed for seven years, has received environmental licensing and tax incentives from the state government through the Sergipe Industrial Development Program. Polimix and the Government of Sergipe aim to boost the state’s economy over the coming years with the factory.

Polimix Announces Investment of R$ 600 Million in Cement Factory

The state of Sergipe has good news for the economy over the coming months.

Governor Fábio Mitidieri, First Lady Érica Mitidieri, and the Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology, Valmor Barbosa, attended a meeting with the Polimix group, which announced an investment of R$ 600 million in the reactivation of the cement factory in Nossa Senhora do Socorro.

The initiative aims not only to revitalize the industrial complex, closed for over seven years, but also to generate around 1500 job openings directly and indirectly in the state.

Governor Fábio Mitidieri celebrated the partnership with Polimix, highlighting the importance of the reactivation for the Sergipe economy.

The state, which already hosts units of large companies like Mizu and Votorantim, is seeking to strengthen its position as one of the largest cement producers in the Northeast.

With the environmental license already issued and tax incentives granted by the Industrial Development Council, the project is completely aligned with the Sergipe Industrial Development Program.

The Polimix group acquired the cement factory in July 2022 and is now reinforcing its vision of future potential for the state with the multimillion-dollar investment.

Cement Factory in Sergipe Will Undergo Complete Revitalization

The cement factory in Nossa Senhora do Socorro will undergo a process of revitalization and modernization in the next six months, before starting operations.

Initially, the clinker, the raw material used for cement production, will be supplied by other industrial units of the group.

After this period, the Socorro industrial unit will begin production and will resume Sergipe’s position in the cement market.

In addition to boosting the economy, the factory revitalization project will also generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs for local residents.

The partnership between the government and Polimix aims to train the local workforce, preventing unemployment and ensuring more opportunities for the population.

Now, Polimix and the Government of Sergipe will continue working together on the project!
