The initiative aims not only to revitalize the industrial complex, closed for over seven years, but also to generate around 1500 job openings directly and indirectly in the state.
Governor Fábio Mitidieri celebrated the partnership with Polimix, highlighting the importance of the reactivation for the Sergipe economy.
The state, which already hosts units of large companies like Mizu and Votorantim, is seeking to strengthen its position as one of the largest cement producers in the Northeast.
With the environmental license already issued and tax incentives granted by the Industrial Development Council, the project is completely aligned with the Sergipe Industrial Development Program.
The Polimix group acquired the cement factory in July 2022 and is now reinforcing its vision of future potential for the state with the multimillion-dollar investment.
Cement Factory in Sergipe Will Undergo Complete Revitalization
The cement factory in Nossa Senhora do Socorro will undergo a process of revitalization and modernization in the next six months, before starting operations.
Initially, the clinker, the raw material used for cement production, will be supplied by other industrial units of the group.
After this period, the Socorro industrial unit will begin production and will resume Sergipe’s position in the cement market.
In addition to boosting the economy, the factory revitalization project will also generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs for local residents.
The partnership between the government and Polimix aims to train the local workforce, preventing unemployment and ensuring more opportunities for the population.
Now, Polimix and the Government of Sergipe will continue working together on the project!
