The dream of almost every Brazilian is to own a car, but the high prices in the automotive market have scared many customers, leading them to postpone their purchase. However, there is great news: BYD has launched the BYD Yuan Pro, a model resembling Ford’s popular Ecosport. This new option promises to be an accessible and attractive choice for those who wish to realize the dream of owning a car without compromising their budget.

The fact is that, for those who don’t know, the manufacturer surprised everyone by deciding to resurrect a popular Ford car, priced around R$ 70 thousand. However, the news is not confirmed in Brazil but in another country. The information has been confirmed by Autoesporte.

INNOVATIVE: The World’s First Flying Motorcycle Is About To Arrive In Brazil

BYD, the new rival of Ford, has actually launched an electric car considered a clone of a popular Ford car, this in China. It is the compact electric SUV BYD Yuan Pro similar to the Ecosport. The American brand’s model was discontinued in the Brazilian automotive market in 2021.

According to information, the model in question has actually been marketed by the brand since 2016. However, the more similar look to the Ecosport came after it underwent its second facelift.

Featuring a sportier and off-road identity, the BYD Yuan Pro similar to the Ecosport employs LED headlights similar to those of the popular Ford car, but with a simpler grille and different bumper trim. As it is a more affordable model, it does not carry fog lights.

The model that will actually be sold in the national market has a different look from the first version and uses the Dolphin platform. Returning to the BYD Yuan Pro similar to the Ecosport, from the first generation, as previously mentioned, its front has a different appearance, which we are already used to from BYD.

At the rear, the similarities are so evident that, at first glance, the old BYD looks like the very EcoSport. When encountering one in person, it is hard to tell at first glance whether we are in front of a BYD or the popular Ford car. Taillights, C-pillars, rear windows, wheels, and even the spare tire mounted on the trunk lid. Everything was clearly inspired by the Ford SUV.

The body shape, taller in the rear region, also makes the old BYD Yuan Pro similar to the Ecosport sold in Brazil until 2021. Ironically, the Ford SUV was produced in Camaçari (BA), in the factory that now belongs to BYD. Despite the apparent similarity, Ford has not taken any legal action against the Chinese company.

Get To Know The New Yuan Pro Coming To The Brazilian Automotive Market

Currently, the new BYD Yuan Pro has a design that does not resemble the popular Ford car. Its appearance follows BYD’s design language, with interconnected taillights and no spare tire hanging on the trunk lid.

The compact SUV measures 4.30 m in length, 1.83 m in width, 1.67 m in height, and 2.62 m in wheelbase. Therefore, the model is slightly larger than a Volkswagen T-Cross, but much smaller than the Yuan Plus.

The BYD compact SUV is equipped with an electric motor delivering 177 hp of power. With this engine, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The battery is 45 kWh and guarantees a range of 401 km under the generous Chinese cycle (CLTC). To give an idea, the Yuan Up, the entry-level version, delivers 95 hp of power and about 300 km of declared range.
