With the Deliberation of the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region on the Afternoon of Last Wednesday, Macaé Can Finally Proceed with the Construction of the Port Terminal in the City, with Work Scheduled for 8 Years of Activity
Macaé won the legal battle that was delaying the construction and implementation of Tepor (Port Terminal) last Wednesday (28). After being reported by the mainstream media, CPG confirmed the veracity of the information; therefore, it is important to emphasize that this is not speculation, but a concrete fact confirmed by EBTE Engineering, the company responsible for the project’s engineering.
At the Time, an Environmental Organization from “São Paulo” Went to Court to Prevent the Installation of the Port in Macaé
After all public hearings and environmental deliberations that would enable the installation of the project in the city between the second and third semesters of 2018, a non-governmental organization named Ama Brasil managed to obtain a favorable opinion for the suspension of Tepor’s construction license.
According to estimates from public figures and entities in the municipality of Macaé, around 10,000 jobs will be generated at the peak of the project. Along with the port, other works are also following: The Transport Route that will connect the port to BR 101 and the Thermoelectric Plants that will be built in the CLIMA industrial complex, utilizing gas from Cabiúnas.

-
Billions of barrels on the equatorial margin could lead Amapá to double its oil production in Brazil — the state aims to enter the route of companies in the Campos Basin, attract investments, and boost jobs and businesses in the oil and gas sector.

Official Announcement from the Government

Statement from EBTE Engenharia on the Deliberation of the Project
“TEPOR comes to communicate that a decision has been issued that guarantees the implementation of the Port Terminal in Macaé. The order was issued today in the Request for Suspension of Execution of the Effects of the Judgment made by the State of Rio de Janeiro before the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region.
For the approval of the measure, the President of TRF-2, Judge Reis Friede, took into account legal, technical, and economic issues, having recognized the potential harmful impact on public order resulting from the interruption of the Tepor environmental licensing. The decision highlights, therefore, the collective interest in the project, due to all the benefits that will resonate in society, in the State, and in the country as a whole. Thus, both the environmental licensing and the implementation of Tepor are duly secured by the judicial measure.”
