The Fair Takes Place From August 22 to 24, at the Expoville Convention and Exhibition Center
The Port of São Francisco do Sul, managed by the public company SC Participações e Parcerias SA, will be one of the exhibitors at this year’s Logistique – Logistics and Multimodal Cargo Transportation Fair and Forum. The Santa Catarina port is one of the most important grain ports in southern Brazil and has been achieving excellent results this year. Since January, there has been consistent growth in the export and import of goods, resulting in a 26% increase in the first five months of the year compared to 2022.
In 2023 alone, cargo handling reached 6.3 million tons, while last year it was 5 million. The highlight is the export, which accounted for 59% of the total, with 3.7 million tons. Grains (soybeans and corn) lead the list of products sent abroad (3.3 million tons). Next are vegetable oil (120 thousand tons) and wood (108 thousand tons).
“The numbers prove that Santa Catarina is a state that produces a lot. We will continue to encourage the sectors of our economy so that we have more records like this to celebrate,” highlights Governor Jorginho Mello. Imports totaled 2.6 million tons (41% of the movement). The metallurgical sector (1.4 million tons) and fertilizers (973 thousand tons) were the main goods received from other countries.

With 96 rooms, 37 bathrooms, and five kitchens, the mansion of the heir to Pernambucanas is worth R$ 50 million, has a pool, two terraces, and has become the target of a legal dispute after the owner fell into a coma in 2016.
“This performance only proves the great logistical potential of São Francisco, and with the emphasis that Governor Jorginho Mello’s administration is giving to the sector, we can raise expectations for new achievements towards the economic development of our state,” says Beto Martins, State Secretary of Ports, Airports, and Railroads.
The president of the Port of São Francisco do Sul, Cleverton Vieira, emphasizes the importance of this result for the national logistics system. “Following the government’s command, the administration of the Port is working to ensure the appropriate conditions of land and water infrastructure so that this growth in cargo handling can consolidate, contributing to the economic and social development of the region and Santa Catarina,” he said.
Leonardo Rinaldi, director of Logistique, celebrates the good results of the port and highlights the importance of the partnership between SCPar Porto de São Francisco do Sul and the event. “The ports managed by the State have been exhibiting at Logistique since 2018, and this makes us very proud. Our fair is an important showcase for logistics and multimodal cargo transportation, and the participation of these ports is crucial for our visitors to prospect good business,” he says.
Growth of 44%

Imports, on the other hand, reached 439 thousand tons, driven by goods from the metallurgical sector (390 thousand tons), such as coils and steel bars, which mainly come from China.
