With Projections to Surpass the Revenue of 2021, PPSA Achieved a Total of R$ 642 Million Only During the First Four Months of 2022 with the Sale of Oil and Gas Produced in Fields Owned by the Union
Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) achieved a revenue of R$ 642 million only from the sale of oil and gas produced in fields owned by the Union during the first 4 months of 2022. The announcement made this Monday (05/09) also showed that these results are equivalent to the first semester of 2021, and the company expects to surpass the amount collected during the entire last year from this sale.
Sale of Oil and Gas from Union Fields Guarantees PPSA a Total of R$ 642 Million Only During the First 4 Months of the Year
The year 2022 started with great results for the PPSA company in the sale of oil and gas, as the company raised a total of R$ 642 million in the first 4 months of the year. This amount refers to the fuels produced in the fields of the Union, related to the production sharing contracts (PSCs) of the Mero and Surroundings of Sapinhoá Fields and the Shared Deposit of Tupi, the main producers of the resources among those belonging to the Union.
This is a surprising amount for the company and a great gauge of the presence of oil and gas production in Brazil and worldwide. This is because the R$ 642 million raised represents half of the revenue of 2021, a record year in PPSA’s historical series, when R$ 1.22 billion was allocated to the Union through the sale of oil and gas. Thus, the year 2022 has already shown significant growth for PPSA, which projects great results over the coming months.
Therefore, PPSA’s final projection for the year 2022 in the sale of oil and gas produced in the fields of the Union is around R$ 3.8 billion. Additionally, the sale of 19 cargoes of 500,000 barrels each is planned, and among these, four have already been delivered, with two from Tupi, one from Mero, and one from the Surroundings of Sapinhoá. With this, the company intends to further enhance its presence in the oil and gas market and achieve a historic year in the sale of resources from the Union fields.
Pré-Sal Petróleo Aims to Conduct New Competitive Processes at the End of the Year for the Sale of Barrels of Oil and Gas from Union Fields
Despite the significant advances in the production and sale of oil and gas in the Union fields seen during the beginning of 2022, PPSA aims to make this growth consistent throughout the year. Therefore, the company will carry out new competitive processes at the end of the year for the sale of barrels of oil and gas belonging to the Union, as a way to further expand revenue around these resources and achieve the projected amount of R$ 3.8 billion for this year.
Thus, the first competitive process projected for the end of 2022 is to sell two cargoes of 500,000 barrels each from Sépia and Atapu. The second, which will be conducted this year, aims primarily to sell a production of about 200,000 cubic meters (m³) per day in 2023, from the Union’s share in the Surroundings of Sapinhoá and Búzios fields and the Shared Deposit of Tupi.
Considering the date of April 2018, Pré-Sal Petróleo has already raised R$ 4.5 billion for the Union and, throughout 2022, PPSA aims to make these numbers even more expressive in the international oil and gas market.
