Brazil Gains the First Public Thermoelectric Biogas Plant
The process for generating clean and renewable energy at the biogas thermoelectric plant begins with the collection of biogas from wells at the Sanitary Landfill. Through combustion engines and advanced technologies, the biogas is burned in the thermoelectric plant, thus generating electricity.
It is worth emphasizing that in cases of excessive biogas production, a high-temperature “Flare” is ignited, achieving the proposed environmental gain. The generation of renewable energy through biogas thermoelectric plants is an advanced and innovative technology in the country.

Renewable Energy in the State of Paraná (PR)
Last year, the governor of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, sanctioned Law No. 20,435, which ensures the continuation of the Rural Night Tariff program until 2022 and aims to expand energy supply for the rural environment of the state, through the use of available sources, particularly solar and biomass energy.
The main idea is to offer tax incentives, financing, and interest rate equalization. Additionally, promotional content will be disseminated to encourage renewable energy use among producers, their organizations, and representative entities.
