On April 31, Equatorial Energia won the privatization auction of the State Electric Energy Company – CEEE-D, a distributor in Rio Grande do Sul. The company was the only bidder with a bid of R$ 100 thousand and takes on nearly R$ 7 billion in debt. The Group plans to improve services provided and enhance consumer service in the state.

The Equatorial Energia Group serves nearly 10% of the total consumers in Brazil and accounts for 6.5% of the country’s distribution market. The group presented a proposal of R$ 100 thousand. There is no controversy, as this is the only participating company. The transition process to new shareholders will take 60 to 90 days.
