In Boituva, Interior of São Paulo, a 30 m² Container Project Proves It Is Possible to Have a Complete House, Installed and Furnished, with Two Bedrooms, Living Room, Kitchen, and Bathroom.

According to the channel Azul Containers, the container project was installed on a rural property of about 1,500 m² in Boituva, with the structure fully completed at the factory and only local adjustments for hydraulic and electrical connections, as well as a concrete base. The model, made from a 40 HC shipping container (2.90 m high and 12.20 m long), arrived ready for use: it was just a matter of positioning the module on the slab and connecting power and water.

Even with the site requiring complex maneuvers for the truck and the crane used for lifting, the assembly was completed without any unexpected issues. The location, still in the initial phase of landscaping, will serve as a support residence, but the owner is already planning to expand the area with a veranda and new modules, taking advantage of the system’s flexibility.

Complete Interior and Residential Standard

Upon entering, the integrated living and kitchen area surprises with a sense of spaciousness. To the right, there is space for a sofa and TV; to the left, a planned kitchen with counter, sink, stove, and refrigerator.

The two bedrooms follow the standard finish of Azul Containers, with thermal and acoustic insulation made of rock wool, laminate flooring, and built-in electrical wiring.

The bathroom is compact but functional: it has a corner shower, toilet, sink, and built-in niche. The entire circuit breaker panel is labeled, and the project provides for air conditioning points and perimeter lighting with wall sconces, ensuring comfort and safety even in outdoor areas.

Affordable Cost and Structural Durability

The complete house, ready to move in, currently costs R$ 74 thousand, according to the responsible team. This is a value that approaches that of a new car, but with lasting returns and permanent utility.

The project uses repurposed and reinforced metal structure, providing robustness and a lifespan exceeding 40 years, as long as proper anti-corrosion maintenance is performed.

The modular format allows for expanding the residence as needed by adding balconies, laundry rooms, or new bedroom modules, without altering the overall appearance.

Furthermore, the container can be transported again if the resident moves to another site, making the investment even more versatile.

Functionality, Comfort, and Quality of Life

More than a temporary residence, the project reflects a growing trend of compact and sustainable housing, combining practicality and cost-effectiveness.

The thermal insulation, internal finishing, and standardized electrical installation make the space suitable for both daily use and leisure on weekends.

The owner intends to transform the area into a rural retreat, with more modules integrated into the natural surroundings.

The industrial aesthetic and reduced cost show that the container house concept is establishing itself as a real alternative to the traditional construction model.

As the price of a new car rises each year, projects like this show that it is possible to achieve a complete, modern, and durable house for less than one might think, ready, installed, and with decent comfort for permanent housing.

Would you live in a container house like this, or do you still have doubts about this type of construction?
