According to Ameto’s projections for the completion of the project, the mining venture of Aura Minerals in the city of Almas is expected to deliver more than 300 jobs and contribute to the development of the state of Tocantins.

During last Friday (06/17), the president of the State Mining Agency of Tocantins (Ameto), Mauro Mota, visited Aura Minerals’ venture in the Almas region of the state of Tocantins and commented on the business. The projections of the agency show that, in addition to the 400 jobs that have already been created, the mining project should benefit the population with 300 new opportunities by the completion of the works.

Aura Minerals Already Has an Advanced Mining Project in Tocantins, and Ameto Expects Good Results Regarding Job Opportunities for Residents

The last week was quite significant for the mining scenario in the state of Tocantins, with a brief visit made by the president of Ameto to the Aura Minerals project in the Almas region, where he was able to see the progress of the venture.

The business, which will focus on gold mining in the state, is already in the implementation phase and will significantly contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region by providing jobs to the population.

The mining project of Aura Minerals had its groundbreaking ceremony held in 2021 and has already made significant progress over the past months in the initial phase. Thus, the president of Ameto emphasized during his visit to the venture that the gold exploration project will not only bring new perspectives for mining in the state of Tocantins and stimulate future ventures but will also be essential to guarantee new opportunities for local residents.

Mining is one of the most important activities in Brazil, due to the opportunities it generates in its ventures, and this is no different in Aura Minerals’ project. This is because the venture has already generated around 400 direct jobs for the population up to its current phase.

According to Ameto’s projections, more than 300 job opportunities will still be offered to residents of the region by the completion of the business. Thus, the municipality of Almas and the entire state of Tocantins will be able to positively benefit from the establishment of the venture in the region.

Mayor of Almas Highlights Importance of Mining Project from the Miner for the Socioeconomic Development of the State Due to the Jobs Offered

In addition to the president of Ameto, the mayor of the city of Almas, Wagner Nepomuceno (Vaguinho), commented on the importance of the business for the region and stated that “around 400 direct job positions have already been created so far in the construction phase of the venture and, soon, 300 more people will be employed,” while Mota added to the relevance of the project: “Mining is a strategic activity as it attracts investments and promotes economic development, and Aura’s presence in Almas shows the potential that Tocantins has in this sector.”

Aura Minerals is one of the largest gold mining companies in Brazil. Currently, it has a large portfolio of businesses formed by ventures such as the San Andres gold mine in Honduras, the Ernesto/Pau-a-Pique gold mine in Brazil, the Aranzazu copper, gold, and silver mine in Mexico, and the Gold Road gold mine in the United States. Now, the company is investing in the state of Tocantins to take advantage of the production potential that the region possesses.

In addition to the mayor of Almas and the president of Ameto, representatives from the region were also present during the visit, such as the president of the Commercial Board (Jucetins), José Aníbal, the director of the Industry, Commerce, and Services Secretariat (SICS), Carlos Carneiro, and the Aquaculture director of the Agriculture Secretariat (Seagro), Alexandre Godinho.
