According to Ameto's projections for the completion of the project, the Aura Minerals mining venture in the city of Almas should deliver more than 300 jobs and contribute to the development of the state of Tocantins.

Last Friday (17/06), the president of the Tocantins State Mining Agency (Ameto), Mauro Mota, visited the Aura Minerals project in the region of Almas, in the state of Tocantins, and commented on the business . To the projections from the agency show that, in addition to the 400 jobs that have already been delivered, the mining project should benefit the population with 300 new opportunities until the completion of the works.

The last week was very relevant for the mining scenario in the state of Tocantins, with a brief visit made by the president of Ameto to the Aura Minerals project in the Almas region, where he could see how the enterprise is progressing.

The business, which will focus on gold mining in the state, is already in the implementation phase and will make a significant contribution to the socioeconomic development of the region by providing jobs to the population. 

The Aura Minerals mining project had its foundation stone laid during the month of 2021 and has already managed to advance significantly over the last few months in the initial phase. Thus, the president of Ameto highlighted, during his visit to the enterprise, that the gold exploration project will not only bring new perspectives to mining in the state of Tocantins and encourage new future enterprises, but will also be essential to guarantee new opportunities for residents of the region. 

Mining is one of the most important activities in Brazil, due to the opportunities it generates in its undertakings, and this would not be different in the Aura Minerals project. This is because the project has already generated around 400 direct jobs for the population up to its current stage.

According to Ameto's projections, more than 300 job opportunities will still be offered to residents of the region until the conclusion of the deal. Thus, the municipality of Almas and the entire state of Tocantins will be able to take advantage of the development's installation in the region in a positive way.

In addition to the president of Ameto, the mayor of the city of Almas, Wagner Nepomuceno (Vaguinho), commented on the importance of the business for the region and said that “about 400 direct jobs have already been created so far in the construction phase of the project and, soon, another 300 people will be employed", while Mota complemented the relevance of the project: "Mining is a strategic activity, as it attracts investment and promotes economic development, and Aura's presence in Almas shows the potential that the Tocantins has in this sector”.

Aura Minerals is one of the largest gold mining companies in Brazil. Currently, it has a large portfolio of businesses formed by enterprises such as the San Andres gold mine in Honduras, the Ernesto/Pau-a-Pique gold mine in Brazil, the Aranzazu copper, gold and silver mine in Mexico and the Gold Road gold mine in the United States. Now, the company invests in the state of Tocantins to take advantage of the region's production potential. 

In addition to the mayor of Almas and the president of Ameto, representatives from the region were also present at the visit, such as the president of the Board of Trade (Jucetins), José Aníbal, the director of the Secretariat for Industry, Commerce and Services (SICS), Carlos Carneiro, and the director of Aquaculture at the Department of Agriculture (Seagro), Alexandre Godinho.
