The Initiative of Both Companies Aims to Leverage the Potential of the Açu Port for Wind Power Generation, Expanding the Renewable Market. Prumo Logística Will Provide Logistical Support to the Projects Developed by TotalEnergies in the Complex.
Last Thursday, (11/17), marked a new significant partnership in the renewable energy market in Brazil. TotalEnergies joined Prumo Logística to sign a memorandum of understanding that promises to expand wind energy production at Açu Port, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The energy company will receive logistical support from Prumo to ensure that wind energy projects develop as efficiently as possible.
TotalEnergies Will Initiate Feasibility Studies for Wind Energy Projects Installation at Açu Port with Logistical Support from Prumo Logística
The company Prumo Logística, a holding controlled by EIG and responsible for the development of Açu Port, is targeting the renewable energy market to expand resource production in the port complex.
Now, it has partnered with TotalEnergies for the development of a partnership aimed at providing logistical support for wind energy projects in the port territory.

The German ship Bottsand splits its hull in two halves in the middle of the ocean to swallow spilled oil on the surface, separating the oil from the water inside a 790 cubic meter tank and then closing again. It is the only ship in the world factory-designed to split in half as part of normal operations, and the crew of six people who operate everything is civilian.

Urgent energy transition: Greenpeace advocates for massive investments and points to Brazil as a global leader in wind energy production in the coming years.
The companies have signed a memorandum of understanding that stipulates the provision of logistical support services in the projects, so that the energy company can further expand the presence of wind energy in the area.
Thus, after the signing of the document, TotalEnergies will spend the next two years conducting technical feasibility studies for the installation of the ventures.
Within the initiative supported by Prumo Logística, offshore wind farms with up to 3GW of capacity are planned in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is to ensure, over the coming years, that Açu Port not only becomes a wind energy hub but also a national reference in logistics and operational management.
The General Director of TotalEnergies EP Brazil and Country Chair of the Company in Brazil commented on the signing of the document for the project’s development.
He recalled that TotalEnergies has recognized experience in offshore wind and has a global portfolio in development with a total capacity of over 12 GW.
Thus, it will be able to leverage its expertise to ensure good resource production in the projects of the Fluminense complex.
The executive also emphasized that this project will contribute to the company’s plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Prumo Logística States That Açu Port is the Best Place to Develop Wind Energy Projects and Expects Great Results from the Business
Prumo Logística continues to expand its presence in the port sector with new significant projects for the market.
Speaking about the partnership with TotalEnergies, Rogério Zampronha, CEO of Prumo Logística, explains that “The partnership with TotalEnergies confirms that Açu Port is the ideal partner in southeastern Brazil for the development of offshore wind. We are the best location for establishing logistical bases for companies that want to manufacture, produce, and operate with competitive advantage.”
He also emphasized that Açu Port is currently seeking new factory installations that could contribute to the projects.
As a result, the location will solidify in the national market as a true hub for wind energy production.
The coast of Açu Port already has 33GW of offshore wind projects in licensing at Ibama.
Thus, TotalEnergies’ projects will come to complement this relevance in the renewable scenario and expand it.
