Free Specialization Course of UESB Offers Vacancies in Six Poles of Bahia, with Selection by Curricular Analysis, Reserve for Public Servers and Majority Distance Activities, According to Notice that Defines Deadlines, Criteria, and Requirements of the Formation.

The State University of Southwestern Bahia (Uesb) opened selection for the Specialization in Public Policies and Regional Development course, offered in distance education mode and no tuition fees.

The selection process offers 150 vacancies for admission in the first academic period of 2026, with applications open from December 20, 2025, to January 15, 2026, and classification by curricular analysis, as established by Notice No. 396/2025.

According to the document, although most activities will be conducted online, there is a requirement for participation in mandatory in-person meetings at the support poles.

These activities are intended for assessments and academic guidance.

The notice states that meetings may occur on different days of the week, with a predominance of Saturdays, and that the schedule will be disclosed to students in advance.

Who Can Participate in the Specialization in Public Policies

As described in the notice, the selection is aimed at holders of a bachelor’s degree in Economics and related fields.

The course proposal targets continuing education for professionals interested in public policies focusing on regional development, an area that integrates the field of action for public managers and professionals linked to governmental institutions or organizations that work in territorial policies.

The curriculum structure is planned to be completed over 18 months, distributed across three academic semesters.

Activities include theoretical components, applied studies, and academic monitoring through the virtual learning environment adopted by the university.

Reservation of Vacancies for Public Servants

The notice also defines the reservation of 50% of vacancies for professionals working in public administration.

This measure, according to Uesb, aims to enhance the qualification of personnel already performing functions in the public sector.

If there are not enough candidates to fill these reserved vacancies, the text provides for the redistribution of opportunities to other classified competitors.

The rule applies to all poles and follows the scoring criteria established in the selection process.

The university also clarifies that the link with public administration must be proven by specific documentation at the time of registration.

Distribution of Vacancies at Uesb Poles

The 150 vacancies offered are equally distributed among six in-person support poles, with 25 vacancies at each unit.

The poles indicated in the notice are located in the municipalities of Barreiras, Brumado, Guanambi, Itapetinga, Jaguaquara, and Vitória da Conquista.

The assignment to a pole occurs at the time of registration and is related to the conduct of mandatory in-person activities.

The notice indicates that, in case of unfilled vacancies at a certain pole, there may be reassignment for classified candidates in other locations, respecting the scoring order and vacancy availability.

How the Course Works in the EaD Mode

Although offered at a distance, the specialization is not entirely remote.

The notice establishes that in-person assessments and other academic meetings must occur at the support pole to which the student is assigned.

There is also the possibility of conducting in-person activities in facilities at Uesb or other authorized spaces, located in the municipality of the pole or in affiliated municipalities.

Online activities will be developed in the Virtual Learning Environment, mentioning the use of Moodle and other digital interfaces indicated by the course coordination.

The university emphasizes that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure access to the internet and compatible equipment for following classes and completing proposed activities.

Selection Criteria and Classification of Candidates

The selection will be conducted through evaluation of titles and professional experience, based on the scoring system available as an attachment to the notice.

The scoring considers aspects such as academic background and professional experience, particularly in the public sector, according to the criteria previously defined by the institution.

In the event of a tie in the final score, the notice establishes as a tie-breaking criterion the highest chronological age.

Uesb also informs that if the candidate makes more than one application, only the last registered will be considered valid for classification purposes.

Documents Required for Registration

The notice details the list of mandatory documents for registration, including identification documents, academic certificates, and records that substantiate the declared score in the scoring system.

All files must be digitized in PDF format and attached in the specific fields of the electronic form.

The university warns that documents submitted outside the indicated spaces or with low legibility may be disregarded in the assessment.

The notice also states that Uesb is not responsible for technical failures that prevent the completion of the registration, such as connection problems or system instabilities.

Online Registration and Final Deadline

Applications must be made exclusively online, through the online form provided on the official Uesb page regarding Notice No. 396/2025.

The deadline for submitting applications begins on December 20, 2025, and ends on January 15, 2026.
