The Federal Fluminense University (UFF), through the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, has just launched the PIGEAD Notice No. 01/2025 , which opens applications for the free online (EAD) Graduate Course in Planning, Implementation and Management of Distance Education . This is a unique opportunity for basic education teachers and educational managers who wish to specialize and enhance their skills in the EAD area. With 180 slots distributed across different locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the course offers high-quality continuing education.
The free course aims to empower tutors, authors of educational materials, and managers to work in distance education projects, based on UFF’s consolidated experience. With a total workload of 420 hours , the program will be continuous in the online (EAD) format, utilizing the MOODLE Virtual Learning Environment (AVA). The curriculum includes courses such as Fundamentals of EAD, Planning Distance Courses, and Production of Educational Materials, along with a Final Course Project (TFC).
Slots and Locations of Offer
The 180 slots for the graduate program are equally distributed among five UFF locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro, each with 36 slots available. Check out the participating locations:

Applicants for the free online course (EAD) must choose a location at the time of registration and may indicate a second option to compete for any remaining slots, if available.
How Does the Selection Process Work?
The selection process will be conducted in two phases: registration and evaluation . To register, it is necessary to fill out the form and submit the relevant documentation. The selection includes analysis of courses and experiences in the education field. 10% of the slots are reserved for technical-administrative staff and faculty of UFF.
Who Can Participate?
To apply for the graduate program, it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree recognized by the MEC and work as a teacher in basic education or as an educational manager. It is also necessary to have internet access and basic computer skills to keep up with activities in the virtual environment.
