The free courses at the Federal Institute are intended for young people between 16 and 29 years old at the start of classes. However, there are some specific requirements for certain programs.

- Mossoró Campus: Building Maintenance Assistant (200 hours), Renewable Energy Systems Electrician (200 hours).
- Natal Campus: Audio Recording and Editing Operator (240 hours), Cultural Agent (200 hours), Salesperson (200 hours).
- Other Campuses: Web Programmer and Salesperson courses in various locations.
In addition to the listed courses, the Federal Institute also informs that the Agricultural Machinery and Implements Operator course is specifically aimed at young people from family farming.
To enroll and compete for the open spots, candidates must present a declaration of association with a family farming union or cooperative.

To participate and compete for the spots, interested individuals must access the Jovem Potiguar website, where the registration form is available.
The Federal Institute’s process is entirely online and requires candidates to fill in information such as full name, CPF, cellphone number, and email.
It is essential for candidates to also declare, when applicable, if they have completed elementary school, if they are former students from the socio-educational system, and if they identify as transgender.
The list of pre-registered individuals and the results of the selection process will be announced on October 22, also through the Jovem Potiguar project page.

The Jovem Potiguar Project
