Elera Is Offering a Training Course for Women Seeking to Work in the Renewable Energy Field in Minas Gerais
The Janaúba Solar Complex, in Minas Gerais, owned by Elera Renováveis, is offering a course to professionally qualify women specifically in the interior of Minas Gerais, after the company invested approximately R$ 3 billion in the mentioned Complex. This enterprise is the largest one undertaken by Elera and has a capacity of 1.2 GWp.
Approximately 75 female workers of various profiles and ages have started the training course for the installation of photovoltaic systems at Elera Renováveis’ site in Minas Gerais.
Elera’s training course, in partnership with Senai, aims to expand the availability of qualified labor in the Quem-Quem region, a municipality near Janaúba, also in Minas Gerais.

The first two classes of the offered course were completed in April, with around 50 graduates, 38 of whom are women. Currently, there are two classes in progress, with completion expected in June.
The course has a workload of 100 hours, covering content on concepts in electricity and solar energy, installation in photovoltaic modules, health and safety concepts, among others. Those interested can access more information on Elera’s website.
Women Are Prioritized in Elera’s Initiative
Milena Murta, Elera Renováveis’ social responsibility manager, states that women from Quem-Quem, a municipality in Minas Gerais, have priority in the training course. Based on Elera’s Diversity Policy, the proposal aims to promote equal opportunities as well as the professionalization and inclusion of women in the workforce. “We need skilled labor in the field of photovoltaic systems in the region, given the significant potential of Minas Gerais to generate energy. Therefore, Elera has made this course available to train professionals interested in working in this field. So far, the installation of the complex has comprised about 70% local labor,” says the manager.
About the Janaúba Solar Complex
The municipality of Janaúba, in Minas Gerais, has 20 solar parks under development that contain a total of 2.2 million photovoltaic modules.
The construction of the Janaúba Complex in Minas Gerais began in January 2021 and, during its construction phase, the enterprise will generate approximately 1,600 jobs. The energy produced by the complex could supply a city of 4.1 million inhabitants, equivalent to Manaus and Curitiba combined, or even a country like Croatia.
