In A Frank Interview, Ratinho Details The Mistakes That Lead The Rich To Bankruptcy, Explains Why He Would Never Invest In Cryptocurrencies, Defends Silvio Santos And States That Acquiring SBT Would Require Billions Out Of Reality
The presenter and entrepreneur Ratinho drew attention by sharing financial lessons and behind-the-scenes insights from television in a conversation full of strong opinions. When discussing the mistakes that bring down millionaires, he stated that bankruptcy comes from “bad business or gambling addiction” and explained why he avoids risks in new investments.
During the interview, Ratinho also commented on Silvio Santos, Faustão and the future of SBT, blending humor and realism. The presenter revealed that he was advised to buy a TV station but backed off after assessing the size of the investment needed and the complexity of managing a billion-dollar structure.
The Financial Lessons And The Advice That Prevents Bankruptcy
At 67 years old, Ratinho said he has learned to control impulses and set clear financial limits. According to him, he has already determined how much money to leave for his children and does not intend to invest in new businesses. “I no longer get involved in bad deals. If someone wants me to invest money, I won’t do it. Crytocurrency? No way — it’s worthless,” he stated.

In his view, there are only two paths to bankruptcy for those with money: making bad business deals or succumbing to addictions like gambling. He recalled that many artists and former football players have lost fortunes betting. “If controlled, you lose little. If you’re foolish, you lose everything,” he said, emphasizing that discipline is the secret to preserving wealth.
Ratinho mentioned that he even considered buying a television station a few years ago for around R$ 350 million, but backed out after assessing the risk. “I would have to sell everything. If that didn’t work out, I would go bankrupt. I don’t put all my eggs in one basket,” he said.
When commenting on SBT, the presenter was categorical: Silvio Santos will never sell the station, nor will his daughters. “SBT is worth about 5 billion. That’s a lot of money. And it’s not just the channel — there’s the entire structure, employees, and the Tele Sena, which generates an enormous profit,” he explained. Ratinho reiterated that, even with six affiliated stations in Paraná, buying SBT is unattainable even for big investors.
The Praise For Silvio Santos And The Criticism Of Faustão
During the conversation, Ratinho defended Silvio Santos, whom he called an example of management and charisma. “His daughters are passionate about their father. They won’t sell SBT. That man built an empire,” he stated.
When commenting on Faustão’s program, he was direct: “Great show, but it did not sell well. Sales are what keeps everything running. If it doesn’t sell, audience ratings don’t matter.” For Ratinho, the secret to success lies in knowing how to sell your own image and believe in the product you offer. “The first product you sell is yourself. If you don’t believe in it, no one will buy,” he summarized.
When discussing business, Ratinho advised entrepreneurs to only invest in what they truly love. “Do what you love because then you will be happy. I don’t want to work hard, I want to do what entertains me,” he joked. He stated that he intends to remain on television “until the last kick,” emphasizing that he enjoys the routine, the audience, and the “good chaos” that entertainment provides.
Even with humor, the presenter made his practical philosophy clear: work with pleasure, avoid unnecessary risks, and keep your feet on the ground. “I don’t want to get involved in bad deals anymore. I want to die working at what I love,” he concluded.
Ratinho’s speech mixes irony, experience, and lucidity about business and media. His statements about SBT, Faustão, and the mistakes that lead to bankruptcy reveal a more rational than controversial profile. For him, stability is worth more than boldness without calculation — and happiness is in doing what you love, not in betting everything.

Quero ver alguém provar ganhou dinheiro jogando.
