Projects May Reduce Inflation Left by the 2021 Energy Crisis.
Through a press conference, Neoenergia stated that, by March, it had completed at least 24 projects aimed at energy production distributed across several Brazilian states, such as Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP and MS) and Neoenergia Brasília (DF). The average cash flow of the institution reached over R$ 94 million. According to the company, they are working day by day to build a more energetically viable world, in order to reduce the high inflation in the sector caused by the economic crisis. Some lines also received modernization and quality supply advancements in concession areas.
The Director of Transmission and Subtransmission Projects, Fabiano Uchoas, stated that the projects have several advantages, such as job generation and supply across various sectors, ranging from electricity to ‘marketing’ and information technology. The Rio Formoso, with a capacity above 26.6 MVA, is located in Neoenergia Coelba and is one of the major highlights from the previous quarter, promising significant generation during 2022. Its subtraction, according to the institution, would be linked to Pratudinho-Rio Itaguari, with a voltage of 138 kV.
Over 600 Thousand People in Just One Region Will Benefit – Not Counting Other Projects! – Pure Economy!
Neoenergia claims that it would benefit over 600 thousand people just in the region where the Pindaí II-Licínio de Almeida (69 kV) project is located, which results in a significant increase in electricity supply and makes it easier for the institution to access an even larger customer base, allowing for economic automation. The utility claims to have invested over R$ 43 million in the construction of at least three power lines, with a return expected within a few years.

The Entroncamento Candeias-Santo Amaro (69kV), which already existed until then, saw a significant increase in the quality of energy it could provide, as it is built on at least two circuits, ensuring that there will be no more severe interruption issues.
Neoenergia Elektro Covers 70 Thousand People
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the construction located in the city of Pernambuco should cover a total of 70 thousand people. In addition, Neoenergia Elektro has replaced at least three transformers, meaning it now has the capacity to produce at least 37.5 MVA. The press conference stated that some equipment located in the yard of this facility was also replaced to improve the safety of customers and their employees in the workplace.
The production of more electricity has been a way for Brazil to emerge from the inflationary crisis caused by the tariffs implemented since the introduction of the scarcity flag in 2021. The scarcity flag was announced by the Ministry of Mines and Energy to finally end the lack of energy peaks and the production crisis that utilities have been facing.
Data already shows that the energy crisis left during 2021, which led to the implementation of the scarcity flag, caused a significant portion of developing countries such as Argentina, Turkey, and Brazil, to experience inflation above two digits. The accumulated inflation during 2021 reached 10.6%.
