RN Closed a Partnership with Neoenergia to Install Solar Energy Systems in Schools and Buildings in the State. Additionally, Common Light Bulbs Will Be Replaced with LED Bulbs
The state of RN will have solar energy systems in the school network. The Government signed two cooperation agreements with Neoenergia Cosern last Monday (20). The first agreement aims to implement a solar energy system and replace conventional light bulbs with LED bulbs in the headquarters building of the State Department of Education and Culture (SEEC), in the Administrative Center in Natal (RN), and involves investments of R$ 819 thousand. The second agreement aims to conduct studies to make the installation of solar energy systems feasible in state educational network schools.

According to Fátima Bezerra, governor of the state of RN, accompanied by vice-governor Antenor Roberto, it is always a joy to be at SEEC, especially with this partnership with Neoenergia, which brings efficiency and modernity to electricity consumption.
The state will start with the School of Government and SEEC, then expand to the 620 schools in the state of RN. It is also worth highlighting the contribution of Senator Jean-Paul Prates, who invested R$ 1 million for the Solar Schools project. The governor also added that by celebrating partnerships like this with Neoenergia, the state invites partners to meet deadlines and goals.

“RN urgently needs to address inherited obstacles, such as a lack of careful planning, for example, the lack of adequate electrical infrastructure, which prevents the installation of air conditioning in schools”, highlighted Fátima.
New Potiguar School Program (PNEP)
The RN governor also mentioned the New Potiguar School Program (PNEP), which aims to build 10 State Institutes of Vocational Education and incorporate the 12 already installed.
Additionally, the Program plans to renovate 60 schools and expand another 100. The Program requires solar energy for the new schools, expansions, quality internet, renovations, and ongoing teacher training, according to Fátima.
Getúlio Marques, Secretary of State for Education and Culture (Seec), considered the moment very important for RN. The state is partnering with Neoenergia for the installation of solar energy systems with the aim of growing with education. In the state, there is education for a lifetime now with the solar energy and savings that will reach the entire state network.
Neoenergia Speaks
According to Luiz José Queiroz, superintendent of Neoenergia Cosern, he regarded the RN government as a relevant partner and that the work at Seec represents the adoption of measures that will provide intelligent consumption and energy efficiency.
The company is completing 60 years in the market with this partnership focused on modernizing the lighting system and implementing the solar photovoltaic power plant. Leonardo Galvão, the company’s president, emphasized that the joint efforts between the RN Government, the energy concessionaire, and private enterprise aim to bring benefits to the State and the economy as a whole.
During the signing of the agreements, the Secretary of Semjidh, Júlia Arruda, SEEC secretaries Márcia Gurgel and Sedec, Sílvio Torquato, among representatives from other entities, also participated.
