Event Will Bring Together Key Personalities Involved in Logistics and Multimodality in the Country Between November 9 and 10; Registrations to Watch Online Are Now Open

With the Centro-Oeste Export scheduled for November 9 and 10, the city of Rondonópolis, in Mato Grosso, will be the center of attention for discussions on logistics and multimodality in the country. The event will bring together, both in-person and virtually, leading experts, leaders of organizations, entrepreneurs, and authorities in the sector. These discussions will take place in lectures and panels and will cover regional topics such as those related to road, rail, and waterway modes; the economic and strategic potential of the region; how investment funds can contribute to this development; and the export of products and the competitiveness of agricultural production abroad.

A limited number of people will be at the Comfort Hotel Rondonópolis, from where the images will be generated. Everyone will follow the sanitary rules imposed by the pandemic. The public will be able to watch the broadcasts online by completing a brief registration already available at bit.ly/AssistaCentroOesteExport. Both the registration and the transmission of the panels and lectures are free. Other activities of the event include technical visits to large companies located in the city, such as to the Brado Logística rail terminal, one of the sponsors of Centro-Oeste Export, and the announcement of the winner of the regional stage of Brazil Hack Export, an innovation and technology event linked to Brazil Export (read more details below).

“This is a unique moment, where we will have the presence of the most relevant names from various sectors related to logistics to reflect on the region that is the national leader in livestock and agriculture. It is worth noting that of the 7 states with the highest gross production value in the country, 3 are from the Centro-Oeste,” says Fabrício Julião, CEO of the Brazil Export Forum and president of Una Marketing de Eventos, which organizes the event.

This will be the fifth and final regional forum held by Brazil Export. The others were North (Macapá), South (Curitiba), Southeast (São Paulo), and Northeast (at the port of Suape). What is common in all of them is that the Centro-Oeste has always been present in the debates. “Given its importance for the country’s logistics and exports, the flow of grains from the Centro-Oeste was mentioned in all of them. We feel honored to be able to bring to the debate issues that, if resolved, improve not only our sector but reflect on the entire economy, generating jobs and income,” Julião adds.

Differential

Each of these regional events features a curatorial board of experts with recognized knowledge in their fields, who make up the advisory council. Understanding the issues related to their regions and how this impacts the national scenario, they are responsible for bringing the topics to be debated. In total, Brazil Export brings together 150 notable figures. In the Centro-Oeste, the president of the regional council is Edeon Vaz Ferreira, who also serves on the National Council of Brazil Export. Alongside the organizers, he plays a crucial role in shaping the event.

Edeon explains that Centro-Oeste Export has a different characteristic from the other regional forums. Starting with the choice of the city that will host the event, Rondonópolis. “The main focus of the other events was port logistics. In this one, we will discuss more about export and import logistics since we are the customers of the ports. It is worth mentioning that Rondonópolis hosts the largest railway terminal in Brazil and the largest in South America,” states Edeon, who is also the executive director of the Pró-Logística Movement of Mato Grosso.

The numbers speak for themselves. Home to the second largest GDP in Mato Grosso, Rondonópolis is known throughout Brazil for its agricultural performance, which guarantees its leadership in exports in the state. The diversification of its industry has also been yielding many fruits and titles, as the city is the largest hub for crushing, refining, and packaging soybean oil in Brazil; has the highest state production of animal feed and supplements; is the largest fertilizer mixing hub in inland Brazil; possesses slaughterhouses with international standards; and has been consolidating as a textile hub in the region.

Grand Finale

The president of the 150 notable figures who make up the regional councils and the National Council of Brazil Export is port consultant José Roberto Campos. He recalls the challenge of decentralizing the discussions, as only one event was held in 2019, and how the event managed to adapt to the new reality imposed and exceed expectations.

According to Campos, while the pandemic of the new coronavirus forced social distancing, it has opened space for new bridges to form, this time, virtually. Proof of this is the creation of the series of 100 webinars held between April and September, which helped shape the new characteristic of the Brazil Export Forum: to establish itself as a permanent hub for sector discussions.

“With the arrival of Centro-Oeste Export and the approach of the National Forum, we are nearing the end of a journey that began in 2019, faced a difficult moment this year, but on the other hand, helped keep the Brazilian logistics sector interested and united to address not just the problems but the solutions to these problems. The regional forums allow us to have a more complete view of the difficulties and solutions for our country,” says Campos.

Brazil Export Forum

Centro-Oeste Export is one of the five regional forums of Brazil Export, which will have a large national meeting on November 23 and 24 in Brasília. The aim of Brazil Export in decentralizing events is to amplify the debate on infrastructure and port logistics issues for all regions, respecting their local differences and specificities of modes.

Before the regional forums, 100 lives were conducted between April and September 2020, during the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Parallel to this activity, and even before the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, Brazil Export became a reference in the sector due to its constant presence in the virtual environment, providing relevant content on its information channels, whether on the website or social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

Centro-Oeste Export is the fifth and final regional forum held this year. The other four were the North Export, held on September 28 and 29 in Macapá (AP); the South Export, held on October 5 and 6 in Curitiba, Paraná; the Southeast Export, which took place in São Paulo between October 19 and 20; and the Northeast Export, conducted at the Suape Port, in Ipojuca (PE).

Brazil Hack Export

Known in the market as the largest forum addressing various aspects of logistics, infrastructure, and multimodality, the Brazil Export Forum also stimulates the creation of new technologies and innovations that can help find solutions to the sector’s needs. To this end, it created Brazil Hack Export, a hackathon marathon aimed at uniting the logistics chain with creatives. At each regional forum of Brazil Export, a selection process for Brazil Hack Export takes place. Each of them has a different challenge, in the case of Centro-Oeste, for example, it is to seek innovative solutions to make services to highway users more agile and efficient. The winner of the regional stage will receive a cash prize, and the top three will be selected for the final, which will occur alongside the National Forum in Brasília, awarding a prize of US$ 5,000.
