RWE Offshore Wind Japan Murakami-Tainai K K, in partnership with Mitsui & Co and Osaka Gas Co, has been selected to implement a 684 MW offshore wind project in Japan. The project, located off the coast of the cities of Murakami and Tainai in Niigata Prefecture, is part of an auction that includes three areas. The Japanese government has designated the consortium to develop, construct, and operate the fixed-bottom offshore wind farm off the country’s west coast, with completion expected by June 2029. This will be RWE’s first offshore wind project in Japan, a significant milestone for the company and its Japanese partners.
