Expansion of Lwart Refinery in Brazil Promises to Reduce Dependence on Imports, Generate Jobs, and Strengthen the Industry in São Paulo.
Lwart Environmental Solutions, a leading waste transformation company, is making a substantial investment of R$ 1 billion to expand its refinery operations in Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo. Scheduled to start operations by 2025, the company will create approximately 2,000 jobs with expansion and operation works.
This strategic investment aims to double the capacity for processing used lubricant oil, making Lwart one of the largest lubricant rer Refiners in the world.
Expansion of Refinery Promises to Increase Production by 50% and Reduce Dependence on Imports in Brazil
With the R$ 1 billion investment, the processing capacity of Lwart’s refinery will increase by 50%, from 240 million to 360 million liters of used or contaminated lubricant oil per year. The new plant is expected to start operations in 2025, which will make Lwart Environmental Solutions the second largest rer Refinery in the world. This expansion will not only boost the regional economy but also promote environmental preservation.

The investment will translate into an increase in high-performance base oil production, known as Group II. Currently, Brazil imports this product, as it is not self-sufficient in its production. Lwart’s expansion represents a game changer for the lubricant industry in the country.
With enhanced capacity and a focus on high-performance base oil production, the country will be one step closer to reducing its dependence on imports while strengthening its local industry. The rer Refining, which Lwart excels at, is key to Brazil’s self-sufficiency as it transforms waste into a high-quality oil that can be recycled endlessly.
Commitment to the Environment: Rer Refining and Sustainability
Used or contaminated lubricant oil, known as OLUC, is a hazardous waste that threatens the environment and health when improperly discarded. Rer Refining is the environmentally responsible solution, transforming OLUC into base oil for new lubricants. Lwart employs cutting-edge technology for this transformation, maintaining the quality of the product.
Additionally, the rer Refining process generates by-products, such as heat-generating fuel for the refinery itself and an asphalt compound used in construction. This sustainable approach not only protects the environment but also contributes to the circular economy and generates valuable keywords related to sustainability.
Job Creation
During the construction of the new plant, the expectation is to create up to 1,200 new jobs, boosting the local and regional economy. Upon completion of construction, Lwart Environmental Solutions estimates the creation of 400 direct jobs during the plant’s operation. This news is a breath of fresh air for São Paulo, where the job market is highly competitive.
Part of the investment will also be directed towards a new steam and electricity generation system powered by biomass, aimed at energy self-sufficiency. This sustainable approach reinforces Lwart’s commitment to the environment.
