To Face The Shortage Of Professionals, Senai PR Is Offering 600 Spots In Free Distance Courses For The Information Technology (IT) Sector, With Classes Starting On December 13

The National Service for Industrial Training (Senai) is offering several free courses in the Information Technology (IT) sector in PR. A total of about 600 spots are being offered for classes starting next Monday (13), distributed among three qualification options. It is worth noting that Senai PR’s free courses will be offered in the connected distance learning modality, and there are 200 spots available for each course.

All Details About Senai PR’s Free Distance Courses In IT

The courses offered in the Information Technology sector are: IT Technical Fundamentals, Introduction to Systems Programming, and IT Infrastructure and Services Management. According to the institution, the free professional development courses are being offered to people throughout the state, as the classes will be taught online.

Information Technology students will be able to attend classes until December 22, through the Microsoft Teams platform, in the evening, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

With the free courses in the IT sector, Senai PR students will have access to new job opportunities. According to Jacielle Feltrin Vila Verde Ribeiro, education and business manager at the institution, the goal is to equip participants and fill the available positions in the Information Technology sector, which currently has an accumulated deficit of over 70,000 professionals.

Learn How To Enroll In Senai PR’s Free Courses

Enrollment for Senai PR’s free Information Technology courses can be done through the FIEP System website, where other important information about each opportunity is available.

According to the institution, enrollment will remain open until the 13th. It is also worth noting that candidates do not need prior knowledge in the sector to participate in the classes; the only requirements are to be 14 years or older and have completed elementary school, in addition to being available to participate in the EAD classes at the scheduled times and dates.

The current offer is part of a Senai PR project to meet the demand in the Information Technology sector. The goal is to offer a total of 79 free training, professional qualification, and improvement courses.

Shortage Of IT Professionals

The Information Technology sector has been facing a shortage of professionals for some time. The projection is that in Brazil, this shortage will reach 408,000 job vacancies by 2022. Thus, the accumulated losses between 2010 and 2020 already exceed R$167 billion.

Currently, Brazil ranks 10th in the world’s largest markets in the sector. In Latin America, it is the leader and accounts for 40% of the total. Therefore, the country must tackle the labor shortage to avoid missing the chance to become a reference in the sector.
