SESC – RJ Opens Selection Process with 692 Vacancies for Free English and Spanish Courses

SESC RJ Is Offering Hundreds of Free English and Spanish Courses for Students with Family Income Below Three Minimum Wages and Age Over 15 Years.

Young people interested in learning a new language can register for the free Foreign Language Immersion courses at SESC RJ, basic and intermediate levels in English and Spanish. The institution is offering 692 spots, and the announcement for the selection process is available on the SESC RJ website. The selection process for the free English and Spanish courses will be conducted remotely.

Requirements to Participate in the Free English and Spanish Courses at SESC RJ

SESC RJ will form 83 classes on different days and times, with options for one or two classes per week lasting up to three hours. Young people over 15 years old with a monthly family income that does not exceed three national minimum wages, that is, R$ 3,636, can register for the selection process.

It is important to emphasize that public school students have preference, as well as workers in the trade of goods, tourism, services, and their dependents, although training is open to all who meet the income criteria. According to SESC RJ, the free English and Spanish courses will be available in both virtual and in-person formats.

In-person classes will be held in eight municipalities: Rio de Janeiro, Barra Mansa, Duque de Caxias, Campos, Nova Friburgo, Niterói, São Gonçalo, and Três Rios.

The free intermediate English and Spanish courses will only take place online. It is important to note that starting from July 11, SESC RJ will open new spots for paid courses, aimed at those with family monthly income above three minimum wages.

How to Enroll in the Free English and Spanish Courses?

Those interested in the free English and Spanish courses at SESC RJ must register by July 10 on the website, by filling out a form through this Link. On the site, you will need to create an account using information such as email and full name. 

It is important to note that to complete the enrollment, you will need to present the following documents:

• Proof of income;
• Proof of residence (issued within the last 60 days);
• ID and CPF of the candidate’s legal guardian, if underage;
• ID and CPF of the candidate;
• Proof of the candidate’s education: school transcript and/or school enrollment declaration, in the case of public school students.
