Siem Offshore said this Friday (11/09) that each of the ships was awarded a two-year contract and that Brazilian subsidiary Total E&P do Brasil would have 2 annual options to extend the charters.

The ships will start the contract in September 2020, in direct continuation of the present contract. Siem Atlas and Siem Giant are platform supply vessels of an STX PSV 4700 design.

As a reminder, the ships signed a one-year contract in August 2018 with two six-month options in Brazil. These contracts began in December of the same year.

Subsequently, in December 2019, the unnamed charterer exercised the first of two six-month options for each of the vessels.

As of June 30, 2020, Siem Offshore's fleet comprises 33 ships, nine of which are deployed in Brazil, including Siem Giant and Siem Atlas, both 87,90 meters long.

The ships have been operating in Brazil since their deliveries. Both built by the Vard shipyard in Niterói under the design PSV 09 CD, Siem Atlas was delivered in 2013 and Siem Giant in 2014.

According to VesselsValue, the two vessels worked over the years for just two companies – Petrobras and Total
