Strike Seminar of Oil Workers Happening This Week Will Define Strategies for the Largest Work Stoppage in the Category
The Sindipetro-NF (Union of Oil Workers of Northern Fluminense) is organizing a strike seminar that will take place on August 16 and 17. Meanwhile, in a Senate hearing, the President of Petrobras declares that the government is not dismantling the company.
Representatives of the oil workers’ category will meet to develop strategies for what is being called the largest strike in history. Since 2015, there has not been such a mobilization among oil workers.
The reasons are, according to the oil workers, that in recent years the category has never suffered so many attacks as those suffered during the Bolsonaro administration.
-
While Brazil wants to end the 6×1 work shift, the president of Argentina wants 12 hours for his workers, increasing political tension in the country.

Mars is accelerating, and scientists have discovered that the planet’s day is getting shorter, revealing surprising signs of internal activity.
-
Artemis 2 is set to launch on April 1 at 7:24 PM to orbit the Moon with four astronauts, but a class X solar flare and coronal mass ejection could interfere with communications and threaten the launch.
The fight of the oil workers is against various measures that Petrobras intends to implement, such as: adjustments below inflation, reduction of overtime pay percentage and payment only when management deems convenient, loss of health plan rights for new hires and retirees, end of profit-sharing, end of the advance on the 13th salary in February, end of vacation payments up to two days before the start of the leave, reduction of the collective agreement’s duration to one year, end of adherence to the Young University Program, end of union organization, among other measures.
In the opinion of the oil workers, the seminar is one of the steps for the movement to be victorious in the fight against these impositions from the state-owned company and will define a proportional response to Petrobras reflecting the workers’ demands.
The agenda for the two days of the seminar has already been published and the work is structured as follows:
