The oil company Total has started drilling in the Lapa field, in the Santos pre-salt. The campaign is the company’s first as an operator in the Brazilian pre-salt.
Drilling was conducted by the DS-9 rig, from Ensco, last Thursday (06/20), which has a contract with Total to also drill four to six more wells, and production will be handled by the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba.
The contract with the DS-9 allows for the possibility of drilling two more wells, totaling 6 wells, as Total’s project for the Lapa field includes three production wells and three injection wells.
