US Startup Innovates in the Generator Market and Developed What Is Believed to Be a Portable Power Plant Capable of Supplying Residences

A startup from San Francisco, USA, launched a product known as a “portable power plant” that utilizes solar energy and dispenses with fossil fuels. The EcoFlow DELTA is a small compact power generator that is about the size of a toaster. Additionally, the product has a storage capacity of 882 Wh and a power output of 1400 W, which can be generated by solar energy or a standard outlet. The device generates enough electricity to power a home for up to 12 hours.

The solar-powered power plant can also be used to provide electricity for up to 12 appliances simultaneously, such as laptops, cameras, and TVs, and can also serve as an emergency battery for homes in case of power outages, without needing a noisy generator that runs on more polluting fossil fuels.

The startup’s portable power plant also features fast charging technology, reaching 80% charge in just one hour, with a full charge completed in only 1.6 hours. According to the company, other solutions on the market take three times that long to be fully recharged.

EcoFlow DELTA Uses Convenience as Its Middle Name

Outdoors, the portable power plant that dispenses with fossil fuels can be recharged using only 110 W solar panels, which ensure a full charge for the startup’s device in up to 8 hours. In addition to solar energy, the small power plant can be charged via a 12V car outlet, ensuring electricity even without a conventional outlet nearby.

Using the EcoFlow app is mandatory to fully utilize all the features of the portable power plant. With the app, it is possible to control the charging speed, check the battery health, see which devices are connected, and monitor the life consumption of each one.

The small electricity generator’s charging system is based on LFP battery technology, the same used by Tesla electric cars, which ensures electricity for at least 3,500 charge cycles before its capacity is reduced by 20%. The technology used in the equipment also allows for up to a year of lifespan while maintaining a full charge.

Portable Power Plant Dispenses with Fuels and Costs Only R$ 5,000

The portable electricity station is currently in crowdfunding and aims to deliver the first units by the end of this month. Although it is a device that only brings benefits, the portable power plant will not be sold at such an affordable price.

The startup’s equipment costs US$ 999 (about R$ 5,000 at direct conversion). For now, the electricity generator is available for sale only in the USA, where, according to the startup, the demand for this type of more efficient and fossil fuel-free generator has increased by nearly 70% in the last two years, particularly in areas farther from urban centers.

According to Thomas Chan, CEO of EcoFlow, the portable power plant is smaller, more accessible, and lighter, making electricity a portable element that can be taken anywhere at any time.
