Stellantis Recently Announced Its New Electric Car Titled Lancia Ypsilon. The Model, Sibling of the Peugeot 208, Will Receive Mild Hybrid Versions in the Future.
The Lancia Ypsilon, which recently had its teaser released, was finally officially unveiled by Stellantis. The luxurious electric car, sibling of the Peugeot 208, arrives to inaugurate a new era for the Italian automaker, which is undergoing an energy transition of its products. The car, which is popular in Europe, received numerous updates and is practically unrecognizable compared to its predecessor models.

The highlight is the new electric motor, which will be available in the Lancia Ypsilon Cassina. This version arrives as the top-of-the-line sibling of the Peugeot 208, but also as a limited series. Produced in collaboration with the Italian upholstery company CASSINA, only 1906 units of the electric car will be manufactured, honoring the year of the foundation of the Italian car brand.
The Lancia Ypsilon, in addition to the electric motor, will have various exclusive factory elements to highlight the new era of the automaker. However, despite the debut model being electric, the model announced by Stellantis is expected to continue in production, but with a mild hybrid engine.

Now moving on to the design of the electric car, it is completely different, very modern, with more curves and new finishes. The front of the sibling of the Peugeot 208 features a light bar that connects one side to the other with the large writing “Lancia” right above. On the edges of the model are the round headlights, and in the center is a grille.
The rear of the Lancia Ypsilon features separate circular taillights. In the center, the full name of the company is also present, along with a coupe finish that includes a rear spoiler and glossy black details.
The Interior of the Electric Car from Stellantis Delivers State-of-the-Art Technology
The interior reflects the same personality as the exterior, with modern elements and a touch from CASSINA. The finish has been named “Italian Style Living Room,” with the acronym staying as S.A.L.A., a small play on words due to the partnership. However, this is only available in the limited edition of the electric car sibling of the Peugeot 208.
The color follows the same as on the outside. Regarding technology, the Lancia Ypsilon features two 10-inch digital screens, one for infotainment and another for instruments. The console also includes a wireless charging pad, cup holders, among other features.
The highlight should be emphasized for the CASSINA upholstery, made from a special blue velvet fabric inspired by the historic Lancia fabrics. The brand, which is also part of the Stellantis group, will use the same platform (STLA Small) as other cars in the group, such as the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa.
Thus, the limited and electric version of the Lancia Ypsilon is expected to share the same technical specifications, having only an electric motor that delivers 156 horsepower supported by a 51 kWh battery. In this configuration, the range is 403 km in the WLTP cycle.
The New Electric Car Will Cost About R$ 210 Thousand
For the continuation of the Stellantis model, in addition to the 1906 limited units, the plan is to produce gasoline engines with 48V hybrid technology. The power of future hybrid models is expected to range around 100 to 136 horsepower, but specifications have not yet been disclosed.
The sale of the Lancia Ypsilon will begin in May in Italy, but it will also expand to other countries like Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom, in that exact order.
The only price available for the electric car sibling of the Peugeot 208 is for the top electric limited version, which is around 39,500 euros, equivalent to R$ 210 in direct conversion.
