A solar power plant will be built in partnership with STI Norland in MG
The Spanish STI Norland, specialized in the segment of solar energy trackers, has doubled its market share over the last year in Brazil and will now be part of a new project involving a plant in MG. The company went from a slice of 18% in 2018 to 39% in 2019, according to the report “Global Solar PV Tracker Market Share 2020”, published by the British consultancy Wood Mackenzie, a reference in research in the areas of energy, chemistry and mining.

“The solar energy market has grown significantly in Brazil, everything indicates that in the coming years or in the next generations, renewable energy will not be just an option among low-carbon energy sources, but the solution to tread a sustainable path”, comments Javier Reclusa, CEO of STI Norland Brasil.
STI Norland will be primarily responsible for training employees at the MG plant
In addition to the trackers, the services provided by STI Norland at the MG solar power plant involve commissioning, assembly training program, assembly supervision, O&M training program and pull out tests.
The solar energy plant in Minas Gerais will be installed in an area of 255 hectares (much larger than a football stadium) and will have its generation directed both to the free contracting environment and to the regulated market.
Planning for plant operation
The MG solar power plant project will be able to generate more than 200GWh per year when completed, this will help to reduce about 90 million tons of CO2 from our atmosphere. For those unfamiliar, one MW equals three football fields.
