The University of Cambridge is now accepting applications for Reach Cambridge, a program that offers scholarships to high school students. The initiative will bring two students aged 15 to 17 to study at the University of Cambridge. This is a great opportunity to study at one of the most renowned educational institutions.
All about the program to study at the University of Cambridge
Applicants from private schools will be considered if the recommendation letter confirms that they attend the school on a scholarship. Full and partial scholarships will be awarded to international students, including Brazilians.
The full scholarship covers the summer course fees in Cambridge, as well as accommodation, course materials, cultural excursions and half-board. The partial scholarships, on the other hand, cover 50% of these amounts. Expenses such as airfare are the responsibility of the participant.

It is worth noting that England is a country full of opportunities for international students. In Brazil, Reach Cambridge is known as an essay competition that offers a course to study at the University of Cambridge as a prize. However, in reality, the competition is only one part of the program.
O Reach Cambridge is a summer school aimed at secondary school students attending classes at the University of Cambridge, but organised by an independent private institution.
The initiative emerged in 2005 with a focus on preparing young people aged 15 and 17 for the university environment. Since then, the program has been held every year, offering two, four or six-week courses on various knowledge topics.
Those interested in studying at the University of Cambridge must write an essay
To apply, interested parties must write an essay on one of the following topics:
- In a rapidly changing world, what role can young people play in shaping the future and what actions can they take to address the most pressing global challenges?
- In a world filled with constant information and digital distractions, how can young people cultivate critical thinking and media literacy skills to navigate today's complex information landscape?
- Can absolute freedom exist without limits? Discuss the philosophical implications of the balance between personal freedom and social responsibility, drawing on historical, ethical and contemporary perspectives;
- How has technology transformed the way we communicate and connect with others? (Hint: Discuss the positive and negative implications of this transformation);
- What should be the primary goal of education: preparing students for jobs, encouraging critical thinking and creativity, or developing good citizens? (Hint: Discuss how schools can balance these goals and why this is important);
O Text must be written in English and must have a maximum of 750 words. The student must also submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, and fill out basic information about the school where he/she studies, as well as a grade record.
How to participate in the program to study at the University?
You will also need to record a video of up to three minutes to serve as a cover letter or personal statement. In it, you should talk about yourself, explain why you should be chosen to study at Cambridge University, and show how being selected could positively impact your life.
Students selected for the second phase of the process will be notified in early December. In this second phase, students will be interviewed online. All The selection process for the summer course in Cambridge is done through the program website, and registration is open until November 18. Summer courses offered at the university include topics ranging from literature to STEM.
