For those dreaming of studying abroad but lacking the funds to cover expenses, Harvard University is now offering scholarships of up to R$390 thousand for graduate students. It is important to note that Harvard is a university located in Cambridge, United States, and is currently one of the most prestigious in the entire academic world.

Requirements to Compete for Scholarships and Study at Harvard University

Through the Academy Scholars Program, Harvard University is offering 6 scholarships for those who wish to study abroad. This is an annual scholarship that can reach the amount of R$390 thousand.

The program is aimed at researchers who are pursuing a PhD or are at the beginning of postdoctoral studies in Social Sciences and Law. Each researcher must conduct studies linked to regional themes, such as culture or history of countries and regions outside Canada and the United States. To compete for the scholarships, interested parties must be available to live in the Cambridge or Boston areas during the scholarship period.

The amount will depend on the academic level of those wishing to study abroad. For candidates who have not yet completed their doctoral studies, the scholarships will be US$35 thousand, which in direct conversion amounts to R$180 thousand. For those who have completed their studies, this amount rises to US$70 thousand, equivalent to around R$390 thousand.

Necessary Documents to Study Abroad

All application materials must be submitted by September 23 of this year, and Harvard University states that it does not accept late applications.

The completed application must include a resume, including a list of publications, a sample of academic writing, such as a chapter from a doctoral dissertation or an article from an academic journal, a copy of the transcript from your doctoral program, three letters of recommendation, and a research proposal, which must be a maximum of 2,000 words, including intellectual objectives and planned methodological and disciplinary work.

In addition, those approved in Harvard University’s scholarship program will receive assistance for travel, conferences, and research. For the application, it will be necessary to access the program’s website.
