The Kia Stonic 2026 Debuts In Europe With A New Look And Cabin, Including Two 12.3-Inch Screens And A Mild Hybrid 48V. In Brazil, Kia Has Confirmed The Model Is In Homologation, While The Stonic 2024/2025 Continues At R$ 154,990.

Kia has initiated a deep update of the Stonic in Europe, repositioning the compact SUV with a more technological visual language, inspired by the brand’s electric models. The strategy targets consumers looking for electric car design, cutting-edge connectivity, and efficiency without giving up on the well-known 1.0 turbo with a mild-hybrid 48V system. According to a global official statement from the automaker, the interior adopts a panoramic dashboard with two 12.3-inch screens that unify the instrument cluster and multimedia.

In Brazil, where the current Stonic is imported, the novelty won’t just stay on the international showcase. In response to the market, Kia (Grupo Gandini) has confirmed that the Stonic 2026 is in the homologation phase, a step that precedes sales. Meanwhile, the model remains offered in the C.253 (2024/2025) configuration for R$ 154,990 on the official website.

The first public appearance of the restyled Stonic happens just before the IAA Mobility 2025, the Munich Auto Show, which takes place from September 9 to 14. The presentation window reinforces the focus on electrified mobility and connectivity technologies, central themes of the event.

The external changes are extensive. The front features a fully LED light signature with headlights integrated by a central element, creating a continuous “strip” that recalls the design of the brand’s newest EVs. At the rear, the taillights extend down the sides, a solution seen in models like the Kia EV5, bringing the Stonic closer to Kia’s electric visual identity. According to specialized publications, the set conveys the sensation of a more modern and technological urban SUV.

Another highlight is the new alloy wheels and the new colors in the European catalog, choices made to reinforce personality and enhance the perception of value. The proposal is to combine efficiency with a “clean” aesthetic appeal, aligned with the tastes of those looking for a compact with a higher segment look.

Kia’s goal is to give the Stonic a more contemporary “face,” capable of appealing to customers looking for a compact SUV.

The cabin is possibly the most noticeable leap. The dashboard now features two 12.3-inch screens integrated into a panoramic layout — a feature previously associated with higher category vehicles. Kia has also introduced the Multimode Touch Display, a tactile surface that alternates between climate and media menus, eliminating some physical buttons. USB-C, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and the Kia Connect suite (with digital key, remote services, and diagnostics) complete the package.

According to independent analyses, the screens can run an interface preceding the brand’s newest infotainment ecosystem, something Kia tends to adapt by market and version. In practice, users perceive a quicker response, better smartphone integration, and an overall more “premium” cockpit feel in the segment.

1.0 Turbo Engine And Mild Hybrid 48V: Urban Efficiency Without A Plug

The European Stonic retains the 1.0 T-GDi three-cylinder engine with two options: a conventional (around 100 hp) and another with a mild hybrid 48V (in the range of 113–115 hp, varying by market). The transmission can be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The MHEV 48V system does not move the car by itself; it assists the combustion engine during accelerations, allows coasting with the engine off, and reduces consumption and emissions in the urban cycle — without the need for external charging.

The Stonic currently sold here in Brazil already adopts MHEV 48V with the 1.0 turbo, combining 120 hp and 20.4 kgfm with a 7-speed DCT, according to the official technical sheet. The facelift tends to refine the experience (comfort, connectivity, and driver assistance), preserving the low consumption proposition characteristic of the model.

European Debut Before The Munich Auto Show 2025 (IAA Mobility)

The unveiling calendar aligns with the main automotive event in Europe this semester. The IAA Mobility 2025 takes place in Munich, from September 9 to 14, with a press day on 9/8, and gathers launches and trends in electrified mobility and digitalization. Brands utilize the showcase window for pre-debuts and technical presentations to the media, a strategy that Kia repeats with the Stonic.

International coverage has already cited timelines, such as the arrival in Australia by the end of 2025, to reinforce the global character of the facelift. This movement indicates that production and distribution are staggered by market, something common in imported models.

The European showcase anticipates contents and tests that help decipher equipment, safety packages (ADAS), and ergonomics before the official arrival. This favors comparisons and informed purchase decisions.

Homologation Confirmed In Brazil, Current Price Of The Stonic And What May Change

Questioned by the press, Kia reported that the new Stonic is in homologation for Brazil, with no defined date. This stage is a regulatory requirement and usually precedes announcements of versions, equipment, and price for our market. Homologation confirmed is the key data for readers following the topic.

Meanwhile, the Stonic C.253 (2024/2025) continues to be sold at a suggested public price of R$ 154,990 (solid paint), according to the official Kia Brazil website, which also informs the validity of the price and the additional charge for metallic/perl paint.

On the radar of Brazilian buyers, the Stonic competes for attention with products like the Fiat Pulse, among other entry-level compact SUVs, where the decision often balances price, consumption, connectivity, and safety items. The facelift brings the Stonic closer to a perception of technological value (screens, app, digital key), maintaining the logic of mild hybrid without a plug for those seeking economy with urban practicality.
