The Suzuki GSX-8R 2026 arrives in Brazil as one of the major launches in the two-wheeler market. The model, which complements the brand’s sport category, features a powerful package, with a 83 horsepower engine, aerodynamic design developed in a wind tunnel, and a complete technology package, promising to captivate fans of speed and performance.

The Power of the New Generation Suzuki

The heart of the Suzuki GSX-8R is a two-cylinder inline engine of 776 cc, with DOHC valve timing, four valves per cylinder, and a 270º crankshaft. This engine delivers 83 horsepower and 7.95 kgf.m of torque, ensuring power and immediate responses. The transmission is six-speed.

A differentiator is the system patented by Suzuki, the Cross Balancer, a biaxial primary balancing shaft that eliminates vibrations. With a 14-liter tank (3 liters reserve) and a curb weight of 205 kg, the bike proves to be lightweight and powerful.

The GSX-8R is a bike complete with technology. It features electronic throttle and three riding modes (SDMS system): mode A (sport), B (intermediate), and C (for wet surfaces). The traction control (STCS) also offers three levels of adjustment, in addition to the option to be turned off.

To facilitate riding, the bike comes standard with a bidirectional quick shifter (up/down), allowing gear changes without using the clutch, along with assist and slipper clutch. Other features include the easy start system and low RPM assist, which prevents the bike from stalling at low speeds.

The instrument panel is 100% digital, with a 5-inch color TFT display. It provides a trip computer, two background color options (black or white), and various information such as speedometer, odometers, average and instantaneous consumption, range, gear indicator, and engine temperature.

Design and Aerodynamics Developed in a Wind Tunnel

Launched worldwide in September 2024 and in Brazil in March 2025, the GSX-8R shares its engine with the naked version GSX-8S. However, the differences are significant. The 8R features a complete set of front fairings and a windshield, both developed in a wind tunnel to optimize aerodynamics.

The riding position is more racing-oriented due to the clip-on handlebars. The Showa suspensions, model SFF Big Piston, are recalibrated to be stiffer, focusing on sport performance. Other changes include LED turn signals as standard and a reprogramming of the electronic fuel injection that improves performance at high revs.

Price, Colors, and Consumption in Brazil

The Suzuki GSX-8R 2026 is available in four color options: pearl yellow (with gray wheels), metallic triton blue (with gray wheels), metallic matte black (with black wheels), and metallic matte silver (with red wheels).

The suggested retail price for a brand new model is R$ 56,900.00 (plus freight). A used unit, according to the FIPE table, costs around R$ 54,000.00.

Fuel consumption is a strong point. In more aggressive riding, the bike achieves between 14 and 18 km/l. Riding moderately, it can exceed 20 km/l, reaching up to 24 km/l. The top speed can reach around 220 km/h.

Analysis of Positive and Negative Points

Despite being a very complete bike, some points could be better. There is a lack of a standard USB socket (although there is a provision for one), the braking system could come with aeroquip for greater performance, and since it already has electronic throttle, the absence of a cruise control is felt. The main negative point noted is the lack of a steering damper.

On the other hand, there are many highlights. The handling is easy and precise, the engine delivers torque immediately at low and medium RPM, and the dual disc brake system at the front and single disc at the rear (both with ABS) is extremely efficient and precise. The full LED lighting and embedded technology make the Suzuki GSX-8R an option of excellent cost-effectiveness in its category.
