Engineers Present A Revolutionary Electric Pickup, Combining The Compact Size Of A Kwid With The Bed Of A Toyota
Engineers surprised everyone by revealing an innovative electric pickup. With dimensions nearly equivalent to those of a Renault Kwid and a bed that matches the capacity of a Toyota Tacoma, it has everything to stand out in such a competitive market.
Last year, the startup Telo surprised the market by launching a compact electric truck the size of a Mini Cooper, slightly larger than a Renault Kwid, but with a payload capacity that rivals traditional trucks, like the Toyota Tacoma.
Now, the company is drawing even more attention by announcing a more affordable starting price for the Telo Truck.

The Toyota Hilux is R$ 75.5 thousand cheaper and bets on the 2.8 turbodiesel engine with up to 204 hp and 50.9 kgfm to catch up with the VW Saveiro, which leads with 4,472 sales.

The new Renault Koleos has a screen exclusively for the passenger that is invisible to the driver, heated rear seats, and 29 assistance systems, but its Chinese competitors cost R$ 40,000 less and deliver more power.

Fiat works miracles in the Brazilian market, lowers the price of its 0 km hatch to R$ 69,990, reestablishes the model as the cheapest car in the country, and reignites the battle against Kwid and C3.
When presented in June 2023, the Telo Truck caught global attention with its innovative design, developed in partnership with Yves Béhar and Fuseproject.
Compact, the vehicle measures just 3.86 mm in length, but its bed extends 1.52 meters. For comparison, a Renault Kwid measures 3.73 mm. The company added on its website: “Toyota Tacoma Capacity And Similar Range And Efficiency To Tesla”, the company states.

Configuration Options And Competitive Pricing
Initially launched with a 106 kWh battery and a range of up to 550 km per charge, the Telo Truck now offers a more economical standard version with a range of 418 km.
This change also brought new prices in the United States. While the original version, with a dual motor of 500 hp (373 kW) and all-wheel drive, continues to cost US$ 49,999, the new option with a single motor of 300 hp (223.8 kW) and two-wheel drive costs only US$ 41,520. These figures are even more attractive when added to potential tax credits.
The company highlighted the economic advantages of the Telo in a LinkedIn post. “Even though the federal tax credit ends in January, the Telo remains a better deal than a typical gas truck or an oversized electric vehicle. Additionally, the cost of ownership is lower, as electricity is cheaper than gasoline and EVs require less maintenance.”

Compact Pickup Design, Powerful Performance
Despite its reduced size, the Telo Truck maintains the robust performance expected from a truck.
Its configurable bed and range make it a practical choice for those seeking efficient transport in a compact format. The inclusion of fast charging also enhances the practicality of the model, allowing users to get back on the road quickly.
The newly launched configurator by the company brings more updates, such as eight color options, giving customers more personalization.

High Technology
Incorporating the latest advanced safety technology — sensors capable of predicting and classifying collisions before they occur, state-of-the-art airbags, and innovative structures — to ensure safer vehicles for everyone on the road.
However, the production date remains unchanged, with the first models expected by the end of 2025. Recently, Telo delivered its first handcrafted chassis to Aria Group, an important milestone for the next production phase.
Interested parties can secure a spot in the pre-sale queue for only US$ 152, fully refundable. This accessible approach reflects Telo’s strategy to attract a broader audience and solidify its position in the electric vehicle market.
