TechnipFMC's deepwater pipelay vessel Deep Blue is embarking on a major subsea project launch project in Peregrino Phase 2 in the Campos Basin off the coast of Brazil.
TechnipFMC was awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract by Equinor, then Statoil, for the Peregrino Phase II Project in September 2017. contract was for the execution of the submarine gas pipeline connection for the new production platform in Projeto Peregrino Phase II. .
The Peregrino oil field is located in licenses BM-C-7 and BM-C-47, approximately 85 km off Brazil, in the Campos basin, in a water depth of 100m. TechnipFMC said on Tuesday that Deep Blue would install rigid and flexible pipelines, as well as PLET structures at depths of 100 meters 85 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Deep Blue will participate in an installation phase that will take place in two campaigns. Mobilizations for these will take place at Evanton Spoolbase in the north of Scotland. Another vessel from TechnipFMC's fleet will also participate in the project at a later date.
As a deepwater laying and subsea construction vessel, Deep Blue uses both coil laying and jet laying methods to install all types of risers and flowlines and can install umbilicals and flexibles from below deck carousels.
According to the latest AIS data, Deep Blue is currently anchored off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
