TechnipFMC is starting 2022 with a new and important contract with Petrobras. The company announced that it has closed an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) agreement for the Búzios 6 project, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The agreement provides for the supply of rigid and flexible pipes, umbilicals, rigid jumpers, pipe terminations, umbilical termination assemblies, and an anchoring system.

TechnipFMC Has Previously Closed Other Contracts with Petrobras
This is the second contract signed between TechnipFMC and Petrobras for the Búzios 6 project. The first, closed in June of last year, provides for the supply of subsea equipment for Búzios 6, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, valued between US$ 250 million and US$ 500 million.
There is also the expectation that TechnipFMC will close a contract with Petrobras for the subsea collection system, better known as SURF, for the 7th module of Búzios. The company presented the best proposal in Petrobras’s bidding process.
“Among other contracts closed between TechnipFMC and Petrobras are the supply of flexible pipes for five other fields located in the Campos Basin and the eight manifolds for production and injection in the Marlim and Voador fields, signed in April and December of last year, respectively,” highlights Mario Ortiz – Senior Supply Chain Executive at Vibra Energia via LinkedIn.

The Búzios 6 project, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, will be the sixth definitive production system of the field. Petrobras has also contracted SBM Offshore for the implementation of the FPSO that will operate in the area, the Almirante Tamandaré.
The vessel is expected to start its operations in the second half of 2024. It will be the largest oil production unit in operation on the Brazilian coast and also one of the largest in the world, capable of processing more than 225,000 barrels of oil and 12 million m³ of natural gas per day.
