TechnipFMC spool base inaugurated in Porto o Açu with the possibility of supplying the grouper field
The company TechnipFMC officially inaugurated its new spool base (Simultaneous Peripheral Operations Online) in Brazil, the unit located in Porto do Açu, in São João da Barra (RJ), located in the north of Rio de Janeiro. Work on the spool plant by TechnipFMC in Porto do Açu will begin in March, with the start of execution of the supply contract for the Mero 1 field project, by Petrobras.

Agreement between TechnipFMC and Petrobras on Campo de Mero 1, is valued between half a million and 1 billion
The agreement between TechnipFMC and Petrobras on the Mero 1 field in Porto do Açu, was closed between US$ 500 million and US$ 1 billion, which covers engineering, purchase, construction of all rigid lines, such as installation and pre-commissioning of the entire internal riser and flowline system to interconnect 13 wells to the FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) Guanabara, which will be installed in the Mero field.
The FPSO platform vessel will be the first definitive production system in the Mero 1 field, in the Santos Basin. The purpose of the contract between TechnipFMC and Petrobras also includes the delivery of rigid pipelines, risers and flexible flow lines, steel tube umbilicals, among other necessary subsea equipment.
TechnipFMC aims to use the spool base in Porto do Açu for the Mero 2 field project
The company TechnipFMC also intends to use the spool base for the Mero 2 project. This business is related to the intent of Mero 1, including engineering, purchase, construction, installation and pre-commissioning of the internal rigid riser and lines flow to production.
