Petrobras Launched Second Call for Innovative Solutions from Technology Companies and Startups in Areas Such as Artificial Intelligence, Inspection Technologies, and Modeling and Simulation, with Investments of R$ 6 Million
The Petrobras launched, on Wednesday, 17, new opportunities for the acquisition of innovative solutions, with an investment of up to R$ 6 million, aimed at technology companies and startups. This is already the second call of the Technology Solutions Acquisition module that Petrobras launched this year, totaling R$27.2 million in investments made by the state-owned company.
In this edition, Petrobras will choose innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, inspection technologies, and modeling and simulation. Applications to participate in Petrobras’s selection, which allocated millions in investments for this edition, will be open until September 9, and projects may receive up to R$ 1.6 million per proposal made by companies for the development and testing of technology solutions in production environments. The technology selection process, which had a million-dollar investment, includes a pre-evaluation by a series of specialists, followed by a technical mentoring phase to improve the work plan and business model of the company.

The next phase is a pitch day, where companies will present their proposals to a panel composed of managers and specialists from Petrobras. In the evaluation, criteria such as the business model, implementation of the solution at the end of the project, consistency and competitiveness of the proposal, impact and value generation, scalability and comprehensiveness of the solution are taken into account.
The first selection in Petrobras’s Technology Solutions Acquisition module, which had million-dollar investments, was published in 2021 by Petrobras, and about seven companies have already been chosen by the company through the CPSI, Public Contract for Innovative Solutions, an instrument that brought speed to contracting processes and had rules incorporated into Petrobras’s Bidding and Contracting Regulations.
Public Contract for Innovative Technology Solutions of Petrobras Will Have a Duration of 12 Months
The CPSIs of Petrobras, with investments of R$ 6 million, will have a duration of up to 12 months, which may be extended for another 12, for the confirmation of technology solutions. After the innovation contract, the technology solution that performs best and demonstrates added value to Petrobras’s business may be contracted for a period of two years, which may be extended for an additional two, for large-scale supply.
Petrobras’ Innovative Solutions Program Already Has 8 Modules
Since its launch, the Petrobras Connections for Innovation Program already has eight distinct modules. They are:

- Technology Transfer;
- Ignition;
- Technological Orders;
- Startups, Acquisition of Solutions;
- Open Lab and Residents;
The program of the state-owned company aims to accelerate innovation, placing the company alongside the ecosystem, from startups, universities, Science and Technology Institutions (ICTs) to companies.
Petrobras currently has a portfolio of over R$ 3 billion, with more than 150 partners in the technology sector across various contracting modalities and cooperation agreements.
