Petrobras Said That There Were No Victims or Damage to the Environment and That the Thermoelectric Plant Continues to Operate Normally.
Last Saturday (06/18), a fire hit the TermoRio thermoelectric plant, in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense. The plant is the second largest in the country, is managed by Petrobras, and is located near the Duque de Caxias Refinery (Reduc).

Plant Was Shut Down for Scheduled Maintenance
The facility was shut down for scheduled maintenance, and there are no records of victims. According to the Fire Department, the Campos Elísios station was called at 11:50 AM, and the fire was controlled around 1:40 PM.
The flames started in the filter house of a gas turbine at TermoRio. The firefighters’ efforts to extinguish the flames caused a large column of black smoke.
