The Offshore Oil and Gas Sector in Brazil and Brazilian Maritime Transportation Are Thriving, Leading Brazilian Company to Acquire the PSV Standard Supporter Vessel

The CBO Group, a Brazilian maritime transportation company, announced on Wednesday (11) the recent purchase of the PSV Standard Supporter, which will be renamed CBO Supporter, marking a new phase of fleet expansion for the company with the chartering of high-spec vessels.

About CBO Group

The CBO Group is a rapidly expanding navigation company.
The main focus of the company is the construction and operation of medium-sized offshore support vessels, as well as inspection and underwater construction vessels.

Acquired by two Private Equity funds, Vinci Partners and Pátria, in partnership with Bndes Par, the company has an aggressive growth plan to expand its fleet through construction at its shipyards.

In addition to having a fleet of 33 vessels, the Group includes the following companies: Oceana Shipyard and CBO Navigation, the latter having a crew of over 800 maritime professionals trained at one of the most modern Training Centers in Brazil. It also has a support base, Base Macaé, and its headquarters in Niterói.

The company has executives with extensive experience in the sector and adheres to the highest principles of QSMS (Quality, Safety, Environment, and Health) and operational efficiency, as well as accident prevention programs—aligned with the high quality standards and processes of its controllers.

With a strong investment plan, the CBO Group seeks to be among the leaders in the industry, increasing its fleet both in number and technological content, while maintaining its commitment to the domestic industry.

What Are PSV Type Support Vessels?

Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) are vessels designed to have a high storage capacity with the aim of supplying offshore facilities (oil platforms), meaning the transport of individual goods.

A wide variety of different products is transported by these vessels, such as: water, oil, fuel, cement, gravel, tools…

The crew of PSVs typically consists of around 20 crew members.
