The Toyota Corolla Is An Automatic Car Option With A Price Considered Low In The Brazilian Market. Discover The Main Models Of The Vehicle.
The vehicle Toyota Corolla is currently considered one of the most reliable and cost-effective options when it comes to used automatic cars launched between 2008 and 2014. These factors contribute to its high reliability, good resale value, performance, fuel economy, and comfort, fostering customer loyalty over the years.
According to an article from the magazine “Quatro Rodas,” the Corolla is discreet and known for prioritizing comfort. All models come with electric steering, air conditioning, airbags, power windows, onboard computer, and MP3 sound system. Another positive point of the vehicle is the trunk with a capacity of 470 liters.
The Toyota Corolla is robust, comfortable, and good in the showroom. However, a negative point is that it disappoints those looking for sportiness, as the vehicle is not very communicative and filters the response of steering, suspension, and brakes without the excitement of a Focus or Civic.

Toyota Corolla: Avoid The Bad Deal
Among the models on the streets, the magazine “Quatro Rodas” highlights one that should be avoided: the Toyota Corolla XLI. This is due to its simplistic finish, analog air conditioning, and the presence of ABS only in the automatic version with the 1.6-liter gasoline engine, making the model considered weak for its size.
Additionally, it is important to highlight that buyers should analyze and be wary of vehicles with irregular idle or exhaust backfires. This occurs because, according to the publication, poor-quality mechanics replace original probes with universal ones from the parallel market, with incorrect resistance values.
Another point that should receive attention is the transmission, as vibration in the front wheels after balancing indicates malfunction or wear of the tripod joints (trizetas), which are parts that transmit torque from the gearbox to the CV joints.
The valves must also be monitored, especially up to the 2011 line, as the 1.8 engine did not use hydraulic lifters. Therefore, the valve clearance should be checked every 20,000 km, even though adjustments are only required at 60,000 km.
Finally, the automatic transmission should also be checked, as the fluid must be inspected every 40,000 km. Furthermore, the mentioned publication recommends replacing the fluid filter and cleaning the internal magnets, which are responsible for retaining metal shavings.
Comfort On The Street
According to experts, roads with a Toyota car always seem better paved. In this sense, some bumps that are felt in a Civic, for example, disappear in the models of the Japanese brand.
Additionally, the information suggests that the Corolla is not soft and still outperforms the Civic in terms of performance and consumption. In this regard, experts say that people do not fall in love with a Corolla, but learn to like it.
“Without driving other cars, the driver may not even notice Toyota’s admirable effort to soften the hardships of traffic. The focus is not on the machine, but on the life of those who use it,” says a note on the site “Quatro Rodas.”
