Have you imagined working just 4 hours a day, in the comfort of your home, and still receiving a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100?

This is the opportunity offered by the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR), which announced a new selection process for the formation of a reserve list of tutors in the Extension Course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.

The selection aims to attract professionals who wish to work in the distance education (EAD) sector and contribute to the training of students in the online modality.

Vacancies, Remuneration, And Inclusion Criteria

UFRR, in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), has made available 40 vacancies for reserve registration.

The selected professionals will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100, granted by CAPES, to act as tutors in the extension course.

To ensure diversity and inclusion in higher education, the university has established that 25% of the vacancies will be reserved for black, mixed-race, indigenous candidates, people with disabilities, as well as transgender individuals and transvestites.

This measure follows the CAPES Ordinance No. 309/2024, which seeks to promote equity of opportunities in the academic and professional environment.

What Will The Course Be Like And The Tutors’ Role?

The extension course offered by UFRR will have 120 hours of workload and will be conducted entirely online.

Classes will occur both synchronously and asynchronously, meaning that some activities will require real-time participation, while others can be completed according to the student’s availability.

The platform used will be the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), developed by the Information Technology and Educational Media Laboratory of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG).

The selected tutors will play an essential role in supporting students and mediating between students and teachers. Among the main responsibilities are:

  • Facilitating communication between students and the teaching staff.
  • Monitoring student development according to the course schedule.
  • Assisting teachers in executing educational activities.
  • Maintaining frequent contact with students to clarify doubts and ensure engagement.
  • Conducting assessments and preparing monthly monitoring reports.

Who Can Participate In The Selection Process?

To apply for one of the vacancies, interested parties must meet some mandatory requirements. Check the required criteria:

  • Have a higher education degree in any area.
  • Availability of 20 hours per week for online work, in morning, afternoon, or evening shifts.
  • Proficiency in technological tools and the internet.
  • Be up to date with electoral justice.

Previous experience in the education field may be a differential in the curriculum analysis, which will be the only evaluation criterion for candidates.

How Will The Selection Be Done?

The selection process will take place in a single phase, consisting of the curriculum analysis of candidates. The scoring will be based on the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree: 10 points.
  • Postgraduate, specialization, or improvement in the area of Special Education: 15 points.
  • Experience as a teacher in Basic Education: 0.5 points for each year of service.
  • Participation in Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Study Centers (NEAB/NEABI): 0.5 points for each year of service.
  • Previous work in Distance Education: 0.5 points for each year of service.

To ensure approval, the candidate must achieve a minimum score of 50 points.

Important Dates In The Schedule

Interested candidates should pay attention to the main dates of the selection process:

  • Publication of the announcement: 18/02/2025
  • Application period: 25/02/2025 to 13/03/2025
  • Confirmation of applications: 14/03/2025

  • Signing of the commitment term: 28/03 to 04/04/2025

Distance Education: A Growing Trend

In recent years, distance education has been gaining more and more space in Brazil, driven by the flexibility of schedules and the possibility of balancing studies with other activities.

According to the latest Higher Education Census, conducted by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP), enrollments in EAD courses grew by more than 400% in the last decade, reflecting a significant change in how Brazilians seek professional qualification.

Moreover, inclusive education has become one of the main pillars of the country’s educational policies.

The course offered by UFRR, in addition to providing specialized knowledge to students, aims to qualify professionals to work in special education, promoting an accessible learning environment for all.

How To Register?

Interested individuals should register exclusively online, from February 25 to March 13, 2025, through the official UFRR website: https://ensino.nead.ufrr.br/site/index.php/formularios-online.

This is a unique opportunity for professionals who wish to work in distance education, gain experience, and contribute to inclusive education in Brazil. If you meet the requirements, don’t miss this chance and register within the deadline!
