Decope (NTC&Logistics Department of Operating Costs) released new data, which show a 40,47% drop in general demand
NTC&Logística's Operational Costs Department, called Decope, has been monitoring cargo transport for the last eight weeks, with the help of companies from different sectors. The result is a strong impact due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

Companies from all states and the Federal District have been helping with data collection since March 16th until now. Isolation and other restrictive measures have been reducing the country's overall consumption, directly affecting cargo transport, according to the data collected.
According to the latest data released, there has been a slight stabilization. Information released last Tuesday (12) shows a 40,47% drop in general demand. In the previous week, the numbers indicated 41,4%.
According to Francisco Pelucio, president of NTC & Logística, “even though the research is showing improvement, the number is still too high for the cargo carrier. Companies work with high-cost operations and this continues to be a concern. We are hoping and working for full recovery to be felt soon.”
As long as restrictive measures are in force, the entity will continue to assess data on the impact on the cargo transport sector.
