The Trump Administration Increased Pressure On Venezuelan Dictator Nicolás Maduro, Accused Of Involvement With Drug Cartels And Terrorist Groups. Now, The U.S. Is Offering One Of The Largest Rewards Ever Recorded For The Capture Of A Foreign Leader.
The administration of former President Donald Trump announced on Thursday (8) that it has doubled the reward for the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Now, those who provide information leading to Maduro’s arrest could receive up to US$ 50 million.
Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that Maduro works with international criminal organizations, such as the Tren de Aragua, the Sinaloa cartel, and the Cartel of the Suns. According to her, these groups bring lethal drugs and violence to the United States.
According to Bondi, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has already seized 30 tons of cocaine linked to the Venezuelan regime.

History Of Accusations And Progressive Increase In Reward
In March 2020, the Southern District of New York filed several charges against Maduro, including narcoterrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and possession of war weapons.
At that time, the initial reward offered by the Trump administration was US$ 15 million.
During President Joe Biden’s term, the State Department increased the amount to US$ 25 million in January.
Now, Trump’s team has decided to double that amount.
Seizures And Promise Of Justice
According to the Department of Justice, the U.S. has already seized over US$ 700 million in assets linked to Maduro.
Among them are two private jets and nine vehicles. Nevertheless, the Trump administration accuses the Venezuelan leader of continuing to command a “reign of terror.”
“Most importantly, under President Trump’s leadership, Maduro will be held accountable for his crimes,” Bondi stated.
