GNLink and Migratio Group Join Forces to Explore “Caipira Pre-Salt” for Sustainability and Lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions
In the arena of green energy, a strategic partnership is set to change the landscape: GNLink, a natural gas distributor from the Lorinvest Group, and Migratio Group, a pioneer in sustainable energy solutions, are joining forces to launch revolutionary biogas projects by 2025. This pact marks the commitment of these companies to sustainability and environmental preservation, aiming for a continuous transition to cleaner and renewable energy, signaling a more sustainable future, just like EVA Energia did in 2022.
Aligning with the Concept of “Caipira Pre-Salt”
Focusing on the abundance of organic waste from agriculture and landfills, this agreement aligns with the concept of “caipira pre-salt.” These residual materials can be converted into biogas and, ultimately, into biometano. According to the Brazilian Biogas Association (Abiogás), the potential is immense, corresponding to 84 billion cubic meters per year – an energy capacity that rivals the potential of the Brazilian pre-salt.
This collaboration between GNLink and Migratio Group aims not only to explore this promising segment but also to accelerate the development of innovative technologies and solutions for the production and use of Biometano. By transforming waste into a source of clean energy, the two organizations are paving the way for a more sustainable future, reducing dependence on other fuel sources.

“Together, we will develop fully verticalized operations: from identifying opportunities for biogas capture in agro-industrial sectors or landfills to purifying it to turn it into Biometano,” says Fábio Saldanha, managing partner of Migratio Group.
Marcelo Rodrigues, CEO of GNLink, highlights that “our agreement is particularly strategic. Our mission is to bring renewable gas to places it hasn’t reached yet, with compression and liquefaction technologies. And Migratio’s expertise in originating biogas will enable us to gain greater flexibility in exploring new frontiers.” eB Capital is also following this same line and recently made an initial investment of 600 million in a Biometano plant in Rio Grande do Sul.
Overcoming Barriers for a More Sustainable Future
The adoption of biogas as a renewable energy source derived from organic waste is a promising solution, especially in rural areas of Brazil where gas pipeline infrastructure is scarce. “Utilizing biogas at the locations where it is generated provides significant benefits for both the economy and the environment,” emphasizes Saldanha, highlighting the potential to reduce transportation and logistics costs, boost regional development, strengthen the local economy, and promote environmental awareness.
These companies are leading the energy transition in Brazil, promoting a more sustainable, profitable, and innovative future, and proving that it is possible to achieve economic growth without compromising the environment. The strategic alliance between GNLink and Migratio Group is undoubtedly a significant milestone in the energy sector, signaling a greener and more promising energy future for Brazil.
