This public competition of the University of São Paulo aims specifically to strengthen the following research groups and Geometry/Topology at ICMC-USP: Differential Geometry, Dynamical Systems, and Singularities Theory, through the hiring of a faculty member specifically in these research areas or related fields.
Indeed, the lack of renewal in recent years makes some activities of these groups difficult. It is essential that the successful candidate in the USP competition contributes significantly in all areas of teaching at USP, including research, education, outreach, and administration.
Learn How to Participate in the Public Competition of the University of São Paulo
Interested candidates can register exclusively online, from 8:30 AM on July 1st until 4:30 PM on August 29th, observing Brasília – DF time, on the USP website.
The USP competition will be governed by constitutional principles, notably the principle of impersonality, as well as by the provisions of the Statute and the General Regulations of the University of São Paulo and the regulations of the ICMC. The hired professionals will receive a monthly salary of R$ 15,498.97 for the title of doctor.
At the time of registration, the candidate must attach the following documents:
- Detailed memorial and proof of published works, activities related to the USP competition, and other information that allows evaluation of their merits, in digital format;
- Proof that they have a Doctor title granted by USP, recognized by it or of national validity;
- Proof of military service discharge, for male candidates;
- Electoral discharge certificate or detailed certificate issued by the Electoral Justice less than 30 days before the start of the registration period.
Learn How the USP Competition Tests Will Be
As a form of classification, candidates will be evaluated for the public competition at the University of São Paulo through written tests, memorial judgment, and didactic tests. Additional information can be obtained through the complete announcement available on the USP website.
The written test will cover general and doctrinal topics, and each test will be judged individually by the members of the judging committee. At the end of the written test, each candidate will receive a final score from each examiner, observing any application of differentiated scoring as stipulated in the announcement.
Only candidates approved in the first stage will participate in the second stage. The memorial judgment, expressed through a global score, including questioning and evaluation, should reflect the candidate’s merits.
The didactic test will be public, with a minimum duration of 40 and a maximum of 60 minutes, and will cover the subject of knowledge area or program mentioned in this announcement, according to Article 137 of the General Regulations of USP.
